Flintoff on EA Cricket

He's bowled over, etc [Out! -Ed].

Fresh from England's historic Ashes win, England all-round hero Andrew Flintoff has taken time out from his busy schedule of drinking victory beer and laughing in Australia's ASHEN FACE to reveal what he thinks of EA Cricket 2005.

"The game's been in the changing room throughout the series. It's a bit weird seeing yourself and your team mates in a game actually, but I love it!" said Flintoff as EA stuffed a fistful of rubies and sapphires into his pocket.

So who's the man of the match when it comes to electronic cricket? "I'd like to say I'm the best, but as you'd expect with sportsmen we're all really competitive." And when asked who'd win out of him and Shane Warne, Flintoff replied: "Me of course, although I'm sure Warney would give me a good run for my money!" ["OOOOOOH NICE Shane!" - random Aussie fielder after EVERY SINGLE BALL]

As for The Ashes victory, Flintoff said he was too busy concentrating on his own performance to worry about putting the wind up his opponents: "The Aussies were very strong mentally, so I didn't want to spend too much energy trying to ruffle them. The best way of getting to them is beating them!" Well, that or putting laxatives in their Fosters, or installing snipers on the Oval rooftops and shooting their kneecaps, anyway.

So there you have it - Andrew Flintoff 'don't like EA Cricket, he loves it-ah, no no' and if you don't believe us, why not take a look at some lovely pictures of him playing the game and holding up the box whilst staring into the camera with eyes that seem to burn with the fire of a thousand nightmares.

EA Cricket 2005 is out now for PC, PS2 and Xbox. Just make sure you read Tom's review, first, eh?

Yeah, right! Surely those photos were taken weeks ago?

And the Aussie saying "Bowled Shane" every f**king ball was wicket keeper Adam Gilchrist, not a random.

    As you were...

A console cricket game wouldn't be complete without the following:

a/ extra-marital affairs, complete with some hot coffee.
b/ death threats against you (from the console) while you're playing.
c/ late night binge drinks with the team, then hung over before the important first day.
e/ sleeping after winning the ashes back in front of the whole world [eyetoy addon]
f/ propose to create ads showing your new studly hair regrowth [see A].
    g/ repeat adnauseum

While I would have liked the Aussies to win, it was still a great series and the better team won (would have been more convincing if the 3rd test wasn't so rain interrupted).

Bring on the next series, hopefully now crowds will start going back to the game and this could be the series that kick starts it.

Better go back on topic, I'd say the EA Cricket game will be ordinary (most cricket games I've owned were never that good, so I don't think EA will change this).

Gilchrist has an awfully whiney voice, doesn't he?

    "Ohhhh thats the area Warner"

And you would need to be as drunk as Flintoff to enjoy this.
Brian Lara cricket is much better by a long (off) way.

    B.C. Lara = Legend.

Can't help but feel EA have completely missed the boat here anyway, since the cricket coverage has been peppered with Brian Lara adverts since the second test or thereabouts. And it appears everyone in the country remotely interested in a cricket game will have bought (the hugely superior) Brian Lara in any case.

Well said everyone......Brian Lara Cricket is far and away the best cricket game. Much like the recent series, everyone thinks EA (Australia) are invincible but then along comes the "2nd best" offering, Brian Lara Cricket (England) and manages to outdo its opponent in EVERY single department, gains much needed popularity and will only go from strength to strength in the future :)

I'm about as bored of EA's games as I am of hearing Gilchrist's comments after Warne's bowling........and they're about as frequent too :-D
