New Fight Night 3 details

Xbox 360 version confirmed.

Electronic Arts has confirmed that an Xbox 360 version of Fight Night Round 3 is indeed in development, along with the Xbox, PS2 and PSP versions.

FNR3 will feature Arturo "Thunder" Gotti and "Irish" Micky Ward, who will also appear on the PS2 and Xbox game boxes. The PSP and Xbox 360 versions, however, will have a different cover design - with the boxers in question to be announced at next month's Consumer Electronics Show.

Fight Night Round 3 is out on PS2 and Xbox in February, and a teaser site is already up and running and showcasing a trailer for the game.

EA made no mention of when the PSP and Xbox 360 games will be released - nor of PS3 version, despite the fact that Sony showed a technical demo of FN3 at E3 back in May.

erm, i thought an in-game demo of the 360 version existed, considering I saw it on gamerTV (looked great too).

    yeh thanks for that..

back on the subject of Fight Night - this is by far (IMO) their best sports sim franchise..

360 version should rock if they actually bother.. unlike their 360 fifa which was utter shite

Hands up who thinks the 360 version will be a 'higher res' version of the Xbox game rather than anything at all like the next-gen demo from E3?

    /raises both hands

Actually, the in-game demo of the 360 version shown on gamerTV was arguably the most stunning next-gen title I've seen so far. And I'm serious.

@Blerk - Saw it on GamerTV like TheBodybuilder - and if it was in-game footage, then it looked very similar to the PS3 demo (e.g. quivering cheeks after being twatted)...

    quivering cheeks after being twatted
    o_O

That happens a lot with .... oh ..... nevermind.

I'm not really a boxing person, but FN2 is awsome. I'm no fan of EA either most of the time, but Fn2 is awsome. Errr... some other sentence I can end by saying FN2 is awsome, because 3 is a nice round number.

The single stick punch mechanic is outstanding. I just hope they don't "improve" all the life out of it.

EDIT: Their insistance on sliding menus about the pace for 20 mins everytime you return to the front end is most annoying and very EA, but it won't spoil the game for you.

    htt p://xbox360.ign.com/articles/675/675388p2.html

    That's a hands-on preview of the game.
And yes, it does seem like those gamerTV clips were infact real-time. wowzas.

    "On the subject of X360:

"First weekend sales leave much Xbox 360 stock on the shelves in Japan. The first figures to emerge from Japan regarding the Xbox 360 launch there last week have indicated that almost three quarters of the stock shipped to the region remains unsold, suggesting a tough start for the new console."

Not SOLD OUT! then. Lol ;o)"

How exactly is that relevant to this topic?
  • Blerk #12 6 years ago

Well, colour me astonished that EA potentially bothered to do it properly.

And my greatest sympathies to all you unfortunate folk who have seen GamerTV. In time and with therapy I'm sure you will recover.

FN1 had some good fight mechanics, innovation in an EA Sports title, which was nice. Then they go bugger it up in FN2 with the haymaker system which was abysmal.

FN2 was ok but could have and should have been far better, needed much more depth, needed realism and simulation over arcade and flashy, if only John Madden were a famous boxer rather than a famous American Football icon, maybe then boxing would get the game it deserves :(

I hope "two extra boxers" isn't their selling point for this sequel.

Not played FN1 so I can't compare, but what was wrong with the haymaker system? I thought it worked really well.

I know it's shite, but it is BY FAR the best video game show on TV (that I know of). At least it's current. Unlike that god-awful one with Violet Berlin. I was disappointed with 'When Games Attack' as well. They all date so badly. At least GamerTV are only about a week behind...

And you have seen Game Network...haven't you? /shudders
  • Blerk #17 6 years ago

'tis a meagre selection, I agree. Now that VideoGaiden has finished I tend to prefer Cybernet, though. Despite it being on at 'stupid-o-clock'. GamerTV is just... awful.
  • McGeeza #18 6 years ago

Cybernet was much better when the bird was doing the VO - but that annoying american bloke?!?

'Hey gamers! Welcome to another rad episode of cybernet...' - Give me a break...i'll take (missus) the non-patronising Sam Delaney (sp?) any day of the week...

Never saw VideoGaiden...was that the one on BBC Scotland?
