EGTV: Micro Machines trailer News

PC PlayStation 2 PSP DS
News by Johnny Minkley

13 June, 2006

Hot on the heels of the reworking of Sensible Soccer, Micro Machines v4 is the latest classic update from Codemasters - and the Britsoft publisher has today released the first gameplay trailer in celebration of the game's imminent launch.

An unashamed back to basics approach promises to deliver an experience fans of previous instalments will instantly warm to, thanks to the return of a variety of familiar race arenas and over 100 vehicles to collect and trade.

The toy racer has always been a multiplayer favourite in particular, and the promise of network play, particularly on the handheld versions, is a big draw. And one you'll be able to sample for yourselves very soon, as Micro Machines v4 hits PS2, PSP and PC on June 30th - with a DS version to follow.

A taster of what's to come is available right now on EGTV.

The movement of the cars doesn't look great, they don't seem to have weight, inertia or any traction :\

No weight, inertia or traction? So they move like hot air baloons?

Oh my... Another English gem being revamped. It looks absolutely splendid!

I consider MMV3 one of the finest multiplayer games ever, largely due to the Keepsies mode or whatever it was. This better have a similar feature.

Colour me can't wait.

They do seem to float around in an unnatural manner, I was excited till I saw the video.

If you've played Mashed, then you'll certainly know what to expect with MM4, it's virtually the same game - from the PS2 magazine demo, the levels seemed a little bit "busy", but I suppose that's kind of in keeping with the original MM games.

MS killed the Xbox and burried it's corpse in an undisclosed location, they'd also apriciate it if you stopped mentioning it and infact forgot about it completly.

Is there any reason to play it over V2 apart from it maybe loading faster than a PSone game?
