Jerry Bruckheimer's still interested in doing a film based on Prince of Persia, according to ComingSoon.net.
"In February, we start a picture called 'Déjà Vu', ... Then we have a thing called 'Prince of Persia,' which is a big video game that we're considering doing," he said.
It's not the first time producer Bruckheimer's been linked with PoP. Shortly after Sands of Time came out (good taste, Brucky. Can we call you Brucky?), Hollywood mag Variety reckoned he was eyeing it as a future Walt Disney Pictures prospect.
According to PoP creator Jordan Mechner, speaking in March 2004, "we're taking some cool elements from the game and using them to craft a new story - much as Pirates did with the theme park ride".
Whether that's still the case remains to be seen, obviously, but there's been no mention of everybody's-favourite Uwe Boll, so presumably people will store their cynicism up until after the film's done for once. If indeed it happens. He did say "considering" after all.
