Activision responds to CoD2 fans

Anti-cheat solution on the way.

Activision has responded to Call of Duty 2 fans who threatened to shut down servers by embarking on a 24 hour strike.

In a statement issued to Eurogamer, the publisher said: "After 2 years of non-stop work on Call of Duty 2, Infinity Ward has just returned from a much-deserved break. The team is aware of some concerns about multiplayer cheating in the game and is looking into an anti-cheat solution.

"Stay tuned for new updates and we'll be sure to keep you posted as soon as we can."

The strike was called by CoD2 fan ButchCassidy, who wrote on a fansite forum: "We request here and now that either Activision or Infinity Ward make an official announcement regarding their future support for the Call of Duty series of games on or before 16th December 2005."

But will this be enough to prevent the strike? Well, at the time of writing it was still set to kick off on December 17th, so we'll just have to wait and see...
