Genki goes to War

Not stopping at peace.

Famitsu has taken the covers off a new PlayStation 2 game, called Ikusagami, coming from the loins of developer Genki.

Roughly translated as "War Gods", Ikusagami will take a similar approach to KOEI's Dynasty Warriors franchise, featuring hackandslash battles en masse with a ludicrous maximum of 65,535 units across allies and enemy troops, apparently.

True to form, large combos can be tallied up in combat, which is said to be looking pretty special so far, with particle effects and detailed fighters. At present, only two characters have been shown; a human called Yasaka Aoi and the more animalistic Inugami.

Ikusagami is due in Japan this November. We’ll keep you posted on plans for a Western release.
