Atelier Iris Europe-bound
Koei uses marketing bravery +5.
It's turning into a good day for European versions of big Japanese games, as Koei has just stepped up to publish strategy RPG, Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, in Europe.
Coming early 2006 on PlayStation 2, Atelier Iris was published in the US last month by Nippon Ichi, the company behind the mostly great assortment of Disgaea, Makai Kingdom, Phantom Brave, and La Pucelle.
Expect turn-based battles, anime style visuals and a return to 16-bit game ethics that's getting us misty-eyed already.

It's an excellent game, one of the best JRPGs in this generation.
By the way, great response time EG. I've sent you the news mere seconds ago

You mean the dreadful end of game bug some people have experienced? I have a worse one: the game started to hang after the Dolby Pro Logic logo if the cartridge with the savegame was insterted. It won't start without a cartridge either, so I had to have my other cartridge inserted in order to get the game running, then at the main menu swap it for the one with the savegame. Happened after around 10h of play, still messed up.

It's hard to imagine that Koei won't address these issues though, so I think I will just wait for the PAL version instead.
