Amped 3 demo on Live
Decent amount of content too.
It's taken a while, but 2K Sports has released a demo version of Xbox 360 snowboarder Amped 3, which you can download now from Marketplace.
The 767.03MB demo (yes we counted) seems to consist of the Lower Resort area of the Northstar mountain, which basically means you've got quite a large stretch of mountain to explore and play around with, and a number of the game's early challenges to try and play out, from the novel (collect Easter Eggs) to the more traditional points-based stuff. There are also lots of people to impress when you fill up your special "I'm hot y'all" meter.
The game's pretty heavy on the Jackass-without-irony stuff, but don't let the presentation put you off - Amped 3's by no means awful, even if it does wind up being a bit easy in the long run. Give it a go and see what you think.

Couldn't think of anything interesting to say about Amped 3 (apart from "it's a bit shit"

Now I think on it, XBLive demos are just bloody great. Something I completely took for granted back in my PC gaming days and its such a breath of fresh air to have the same facility available in my living room for a console (as opposed to having to buy some poxy official magazine to get a demo).
I shall download this tonight and report back tomorrow. NOTE: You don't all have to wait, you may leave and come back later to hear what I have to say if you wish. Or you can stay and wit if you want, but you will need to bring your own cushion.

I would take everyone's reluctance to answer your question as a bad sign

Draw distance is no longer an issue for one, which is no bad thing considering the amount of terrain the game throws around. The graphics arent stunning but are way better than previous generation versions.
I completed this not long after launch, and while the story mode is easy, theres a load of other challenges to keep you occupied afterwards, some of which are a right bastard to complete.
Its worth a play definately, although i'd be disappointed to have to shell out £50 for it.

1. Graphical style is all cartoony. The cold realism of the first two games has been replaced with big heads and shiny snow.
2. The controls have gone all twitchy, carving even lines through the snow just doesn't seem as controlled as it was previously.
3. The way the aerial moves are controlled seems to have changed. Some moves, like spinning a 180 for example, seem to only need a puch on the stick rather than the even and continuous pressure previously required.
4. WTF is that camera up to when I am jumping in the air. My boarder is off the top of the screen, OFF THE TOP OF THE SCREEN. Maybe I am supposed to be looking at the ground so that I can "stomp" my landing, but if I don't know whether my back flip has completed or not the likelyhood of me "stomping" my head into the ground increases 5 fold.
5. Purely subjective taste, but the comedy just isn't quite my bag. I found the animated rap in the demo kind of funny, the animation style was good, but it just went on a bit. If the full game has lots of that, I am going to be skipping cutscenes here there and everywhere (unless it doesn't let me skip cutscenes, in which case I'll go make a cup of tea or something).
For the record, I am a bit of a purist with my snowboard games. I don't mind doing flips that aren't really possible outside of a game and I don't mind jumping off cliffs and falling 80m without dying, but I want the experience of hoofing down a mountain to feel as mujch like the real thing as possible.
I'm sure the dev behind Amped knows that they are doing, i.e. trying to grab some of the SSX audience, who like their boarding games more arcadey. But spare a thouight for poor old kanagarootoo and those like him, who are getting left behind.
Come on Transworld, this is the perfect opportunity to leap back into the limelight.

First I'll say I dont normally play this type of game so my impression is from someone totally new to the scene.
The controls seem okay, as far as i can tell. the graphics are only okay, but nothing that made me go WOW or OHH! Which is what you want from your 360.
The humour just didnt hit home for me. The "Rap" was done badly and is possibly the most cringe worthy thing I've seen for ages, I almost deleated the whole thing after this assault. But the hours of time I spent downloading it I thought I should continue on.
The main game area set some challenges, and the open feel to the mountain was nice. But the whole "W3re c00l and down wit da kidz" thing felt forced, idiotic and patronising.
