Silent Hill movie teaser released

Proper spooky and no mistake.

Sony Pictures has released a new teaser trailer for the big screen adaptation of survival horror classic Silent Hill.

You can check it out on the movie's official website, and you might want to leave the lights on.

The Silent Hill movie is directed by Christophe Gans, and the script is by Roger Avary - best known for directing Killing Zoe and co-writing the Pulp Fiction screenplay.

It stars Radha Mitchell, off of Pitch Black, Phone Booth and, er, Neighbours, as Rose, the mother of a weird child who has strange dreams. Deborah Kara Unger and Sean Bean also star.

Silent Hill will hit US cinemas on April 21, but Sony Pictures has yet to lock down a European release date.

I downloaded a 'new' trailer from GameTrailers yesterday and it was exactly the same as the last trailer. Is there really a new one?

It's all looking promising so far, especially the mixing of SH1, 2 and 3. I'm actually letting myself get excited about a videogame-to-movie translation for the first time in ages. If there's a series out there that deserves a really good movie adaptation, it's Silent Hill.

It's definitely a new teaser, Blerk - there was a different one on the official site a while back, which was much shorter and showed different stuff.

The teaser definitely has got SH written all over it, in fact it could be for the next game. Looking forward to it now!

Sean Bean! Haha, it was either going to be him or Bryan Adams!

Good-oh! I'll go get it from the real site, then.

I have no faith at all in video game movies. Will I see this anyway? Yes.

If humanity ever builds a time-machine, the first thing to alter should be destroying the "Street Fighter" movie scripts...

Looks awesome. Have to admit...I was a little worried by the screenshots. But the trailer looks fantastic. Silent Hill right down to the music and sounds. Takes apsolutly nothing away from what the game offered from what I saw. Cannot wait.

As for Sean Bean being in it. I don't really mind. To be honest, I would have chose him to play the the lead anyway. He does kinder look like Harry and James for Silent Hill 1 and 2. He ain't a bad actor and he fits the role. Works for me.

If Sean Bean is in a film then is likely:

1/ to be the bad guy
    2/ gets killed

    or both

As far as Sean Bean films go, it can't be any worse than the putrid bile that was The Island. /vomits in mouth

Seriously though, if the film lives up to the trailer (does that ever happen?) it's looking promising.
