Lost Planet MP demo dated News

Xbox 360 News by Tom Bramwell

10 November, 2006

Lost Planet's multiplayer demo will be released onto Xbox Live Marketplace on 23rd November, Capcom has announced.

It'll be free, obviously, and will offer four gameplay modes (Elimination, Team Elimination, Post Grab and Fugitive) with support for 16 players on the "Pirate Fortress" multiplayer map.

There you'll be able to sample some of the game's weapons on-foot, like the meaty rocket launcher, and also tackle one another in the Vital Suits (mechs) that form part of the action.

"Well in excess of 500,000 people have downloaded Lost Planet's single player demo," Capcom Europe president Hiroshi Tobisawa revealed.

"We are now pleased to offer Xbox 360 gamers the opportunity to sample the game's adrenaline pumping multiplayer mode and test their skills against players around the world," he added.

The full version of Lost Planet, Capcom's second major Xbox 360 exclusive after Dead Rising, is due out in Europe on 12th January.

You can find some new screenshots of the multiplayer mode in action elsewhere on the site.

Got to say the muitplayer looks excellent.
Combination of foot soldier with grappling hooks vs mechs which can have their weapons ripped off could be highly amusing.

- hopes they include some sort of sticky explosive device-

I really hope this game turns out to be good. The SP demo was pure class so my hopes are really, really high.

I feel another EG endorsed 8/10 review, without taking multiplayer into account of course.

Looking forward to this demo. SP demo was excellent and showed how demo's should be released. I still have the SP demo which I downloaded months ago when first released. It's still enjoyable to play.

Lost Planet wasn't a 8 I thought from the Single Player Demo, 6 or maybe a 7 if this multiplayer demo proves good.

The singleplayer was quite a disappointment and really boring. Maybe the MP demo will be better but I highly doubt that I will buy this game when it comes out.

Yes the SP demo was a little bland,

but I expect capcom to put in a good story which actually works with and affects the gameplay, a la resi4.

I wouldn't count this one out yet.

you cant complain about the SP demo really, it was released nearly 12 months before shipping date which they can get feedback and change things.

The single player demo was well sexy, and i.m.o along with Fight Night 3's it's the best demo that's been available on the marketplace so far.For a title that still had months of development time it ran as smooth as fook, and the graphics were bloody gorgeous. Can't wait to buy it.
