MG Acid 2: Big surprise at TGS

Surprise? Surpriiiiiiiiiiise!

We were a bit surprised to see Konami talking so frankly about what it plans to do with Metal Gear Solid 4 at the Tokyo Game Show (a big, real-time PS3 trailer) earlier today. After all, this is the company that managed to conceal the fact that Solid Snake wasn't the lead character in Metal Gear Solid 2 until pretty much the whole world had bought it. Then we saw what we were expected to go on for Metal Gear Acid 2.

So anyway, Metal Gear Acid 2, the more colourful, hopefully more intuitive sequel to card-based PlayStation Portable strategy title Metal Gear Acid, will be part of the "Metal Gear Saga ~ Metal Gear Show in TGS 2005" next weekend, and the keyword for the showing is "Solid Eye". It's going to be a big surprise, apparently. Those guuuuys.

Meanwhile, MGS3: Subsistence will be playable - with an emphasis on the online modes. There'll be some sort of battle tournament on stage (hopefully this is related to the actual game), and the "Metal Gear Saga" show itself will apparently feature a huge line-up of guests. Whether or not we'll be able to pelt a Raiden look-alike with rancid tomatoes has not been discussed. We're guessing not. But we can always don blonde wigs and start muttering about flat-shares and forgotten dates, pelt each other with tomatoes, video it, and put it on the website. You'd still click, wouldn't you?

    Having barely touched the original MG games (got up to the first boss on MG:S and not played the second one), I'd love to see those ported to the PSP. Havent spent alot of time on MGA, but from what I've seen, the graphics wouldnt be a problem.

    The problem isn`t raiden, it`s just that Snake is the greatest!
    Kojima said the gamers would end up liking Raiden on MGS4, so we haven`t seen the last of him

    Ac!d 2 seems to be on a good path

    I really enjoyed playing as Raiden in the second game and I'm looking forward to seeing more of the story in the fourth game.

    Anyone got the first metal gear acid? Whats it like and is the story any good?

    (And Petay_Pan, nice try, but I fail to see how girly-boy is actually an insult.....)

    MGA gets good once you get past the halfway mark. Before that it can seem a bit dull, but once you properly understand the card system and unlock all the different card packs then you'll enjoy the game a lot more. Also the story picks up a lot in the second half of the game with some nice twists and turns.

    MGS rules!
    the first one was the most groundbreaking, but Snake Eater was probably the best game (had some great new ideas).

    can't wait to see MGS4 (are we all agreed we are expecting an urban environment?)

    So Petay Pan has also played MGS3...mmmm..makes you wonder...found it intriguing, didn't you? In the meantime, I find the Xbox360 more "gay" (the logo isn't a hole for nothing, and even the name makes a reference to it, let alone Allard, who clearly is one) than the PSP. Just because you can't afford the PSP doesn't mean it's "gay" or the people owning it (although I am).

    But it's good news for all of us Metal Gear Solid fans!

    hehe, man I hated that "plot-twist" in MGS2 so much but have to come to the realization that it was really Kojima's trademark quirkiness and humour to include Raiden.

    now I always smile when Kojima plays cat and mouse with gamers by showing his "greatest mistake" Raiden.

It's in the dashboard, you see, and they've finally gotten to you. It's incurable however. Everything not Xbox related is bad/evil in your opinion. How sad.
