Bizarre 'daft' not to do PGR4

So expect one, one day.

Unsurprisingly given the brilliance of the first three Project Gotham Racing games (and MSR on the Dreamcast, forgetto-men), developer Bizarre Creations says it'd be "daft not to do another one".

Speaking during a PGR100 online event which saw them face off against loads of people on Xbox Live last Wednesday (when your correspondent was stricken with flu, depressingly), Gareth Williams and Ben Ward told the official Xbox 360 mag website that they've already been doing some fiddling around to see what's possible above and beyond PGR3's achievements, with Ward claiming "things are looking good".

"I think we'll be able to push the graphics a lot harder," Williams told OXM, which might have made it into the first 360 game given enough time, "but the producer was telling us that we couldn't re-write the whole code two weeks before launch!" Microsoft probably wouldn't have liked it either, so good work producer-man. You may live for a bit.

Put the slow cars back in, lose Nuburgring, and do something about the loading times. Sorted, PGR4 done.

add to that making picking your car easier, showing you which cars you already have when you are buying new ones, and go south of the river in london again

And put class progression back on.

Id add some tweaking to the online mode as well so its not all about who manages to avoid the pileup atthe first corner

add fix the bloody spinning out, totaly ruins online play that someone who nudges you spins you 180 whilst they sail past!

edit - though saying that, the few EG races ive had were very polite afairs. nice to hear apologies coming from the headset instead of the usual screaming abuse

Just redo PGR2 with added spangles basically.

PGR 4 will be to 3, as 2 was to 1 (hopefully), and thus the best game in the world.

    evah.

Flu? Clearly you're one of those people who had a 48 hour virus and calls it Flu Tom. If you had real Flu you wouldn't have been around for 2 weeks.

Hopefully we'll get 60 fps and proper 720p support in the next PGR game!

how about bringing back fun cars like the Mini??

and weather effects. Get back to 1/MSR please
  • HarryB #10 6 years ago

    weather, icy tracks? :p
    more cities, much more
slow cars that us commoners drive!
60fps if you can, but i dont care.

More race tracks would be nice, ie. non-city based ones like the 'Ring. Maybe have the most famous race track for each country in the game?
  • thegamesthething #12 6 years ago

I don't think they will bring slower cars back, simply because they have this 'our turn, your turn' thing going with Forza, and they have the slow cars.

    Hope they do though.

Bizarre 'daft' not to do a Geometry Wars 3.

    lavalant:

"If anything they should lose the cities"

And the cars too! Cars are rubbish. Replace them with helicopters.

Deffinately - I didn't like having cars like the Atom open up so early in the game, now I've raced that around a bit I don't feel like there is anything exciting to look forward to.

Bring back whoever designed the tracks for PGR2 beacuse the PGR3 ones feel dull in comparison. Capitol Thrill? Lothian Road Eight Long? KGB Corner? Rocks Route? Sigh...the good old days.

While I am sure PGR4 will be amazing I would like Bizzare to try something else. They have soooo much talent and I am sure they can strike gold again with a new game.
  • king_skins #18 6 years ago

They are making a new game, Sega is publishing it. They haven't made any announcements about what its going to be yet though

The best feature(s) i think bizarre ever created was in the Dreamcast version. See if anyone remembers this one! the 24 hour cycle that was in MSR. for example if you were playing the game at 3 am Uk time the game would be played at night and as you progressed over the hours the game would actually go through dawn and then sunrise and the if you switched over to lets say san francisco the time there would be houwever many hours behind San Francisco is (I think 5-6 hours) so that would be midnight or so. So for me bring back that feature. It is one of the main reasons i will never give up my dreamcast!

I'm probably one of the few that wants car customisation beyond a choice of paint. I can't help looking at cars without imagining what I'd modify them to be like. It would be nice to have my own unique cars in the game.

chronom4n - i couldn't agree more. It was ace getting in at 2 am and wondering if it was light in Tokyo!

I think they should get a track design feature where you place barriers in an overhead map view of the city.
  • chronom4n #22 6 years ago

thanks for that sentiment mr whacker. at last someone who appreciates the cool feature at last. superb feature when you really think about it eh mr whacker?!
