Valve details Leipzig showing News

PC Xbox 360 PlayStation 3
News by Tom Bramwell

8 August, 2006

Valve's trio of new titles - Episode Two, Team Fortress 2 and Portal - will be shown in real-time at the Leipzig Games Convention.

"We'll have a real-time demo of the games behind closed doors," Valve marketing director Doug Lombardi told Eurogamer last night.

"It will not be playable, but will be new, never-before-seen items."

Games Convention, which runs between August 24th and 27th, will mark only the second occasion Valve's shown its new toys off in the open.

The last time, at EA's summer showcase, Valve released video footage of the games in action. Trailers for Episode Two, Team Fortress 2 and Portal are now up on Eurogamer TV.

Valve hopes to finish and release Episode Two, which will include TF2 and Portal as part of a bundle, on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this Christmas.

Yaaaaaaay!!! I'm first ^^

Anyway, just hoping that the console versions will not be toned down in one way or another. And are they showing a real-time PS3/360 demo or the PC version?

I saw Team Fortress 2 behind closed doors on ECTS 2000. Still have the shirt. Let's see whether it's just new shirts again or an actual game. (C:

The odd thing is that as stoked as I am for the 360 version of HL2, I'm actually more excited for Portal.

Original gameplay ideas, who'd have thunk they'd catch on...... ;o)

Even better if you consider that the PS3 /X360 versions will also ship with the original half life 2 and episode One :)
