Another Mortal Kombat movie News

PC PlayStation 2 GameCube Xbox GameBoy Advance Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 Wii
News by Corey Brotherson

8 August, 2005

Midway's popular beat 'em up franchise is to see yet another film made, as Mortal Kombat 3: Devastation is now in production for the big screen.

There's little information on the movie, other than it being filmed in Louisiana by Threshold Entertainment, according to site 2theadvocate.com. Of course, there's an official site that tells you pretty much nothing at this early stage, but there's sure to be more information trickling in of the film's plot, cast and release date.

Threshold is also working on a live action version of super-violent, super-entertaining anime, Ninja ("The road to Hell is... RIGHT HERE") Scroll and is also looking to create a movie studio based theme park in Louisiana.

/agrees with mjfrog ...

the 1st one was good .. the 2nd one was utter shite (although sonya was .. err .. better ;-P) .. animality ... OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD !!!!

/remains on fence for 3rd moooovie

on the topic of ninja scroll ... why oh why ?!?!?!

the original is one of the most fantastically amazing things i've ever bought on dvd, even if it is a little 'off the wall', (and i urge anyone who hasn't seen it to get thou asses to blockbuster and rent a copy) but the idea of a live action version of it ... jus.. *shudder*

the first one (MK) had good music (if you like that kind of music) and was to me a 90 minute mtv remixed movie.

oh and Ninja Scroll is one of the finest anime out there - a real movie will be catastrophic yet maybe funny.

Oh yes, a ginger van damme as guile. A ken with a mullet and pyjamas. A pussyfied ryu.

I can't wait.

I am ashamed to admit that I saw both the first two MC movies. At the cinema.

The first one was actually kind of fun, especially if you'd played the game, but the second was one of the worst films I've ever seen (Marginally beaten out by 'Ninja Squad).

Ninja Scroll live-action movie? Now that sounds cool.
