Tomb Raider PSP this Friday

Play in the park with Lara.

Eidos has confirmed that Tomb Raider: Legend is due out on PSP this Friday across all PAL territories.

Tomb Raider on PSP is said to be largely the same as its excellent home-console equivalent, except it also boasts a few exclusive new modes - including a Wi-Fi head-to-head game and two-player treasure hunt.

PSP owners can also look forward to hunting down a lot of bonus reward content.

Legend's already out on PS2, Xbox, PC and Xbox 360, and should be released on GameCube, DS and GBA later this year. You can find our review of the Xbox 360 version elsewhere on the site.

"Tomb Raider on PSP is said to be largely the same as its excellent home-console equivalent"

Whilst the PSP in graphically a beast (for a handheld), I doubt it'll look tooooooo close to the PS2 version. It's worth their while getting every ounce of power out of the PS2 because of the potential size of the market, the same can't really be said of the PSP.

I'm still looking forward to it though! :)

Been holding off on TRL because I was waiting for the PSP version. Just haven't really got the time or patience to sit and play home consoles these days.

This game is perfectly suited to portable gaming, what with the entire thing taking around 10 minutes to complete.

Will you be reviewing it by any chance?

wonder if they've sorted out the class A progress stopper my mate found in there (he took his back and got a refund, he was not amused!)

Was looking forward to this until I read some early reviews, which seemed to say that it suffered from control and frame-rate problems. Just like a lot of other PSP games, unfortunately.

Will somebody please explain what it is with Eurogamer posters and the Gamecube? I mean the Xbox is just as dead (if not deader).

Either way, here's to hoping the new versions will have some extra stuff. Maybe an extra set of levels, like TR Gold or something. /wishful thinking

The Xbox has only been dead for about 4 months.

The gamecube has been dead for years.

    that is all.

    maybe.

lolz, well I guess that depends on your point of view. I still haven't bought each and every good game I need to play on the Cube (and I've clocked a lot of hours), but the Xbox has been dead since launch, to me (though I am curious to know what was the fuss about Halo, maybe I'll get a 360 one day and find out).

Plus, checking the releasedates on here, I see at least 4 things I'm interested in for the Cube (not including chibi robo, which is out already apparently, and super paper mario which I don't see mentioned either), while the Xbox has absolutely zip that I can't already get on either Cube or PS2.

Well, I guess I'll stop trying to understand.

On topic, I'm curious to see how they'll handle the DS and GBA versions.

So? I could list a huge amount of great Cube exclusives (and we're talking exclusives here...only Forza, Ninja Gaiden and Links are Xbox exclusives on that list of yours), Nintendo is still actively supporting it (with, among others, one of the most anticipated games ever, namely TP) and as you can see there are still great third part games to come, but apparently to people here facts don't matter because saying the Cube is dead is I guess some running joke or something. Well, it's just them Brits, I guess.

Wow, what? Wow. I didn't even know about that. That sucks so much that it got cancelled, that definitely would have been one step towards me getting a PSP. Wow.

Why's the Starwars music on top of it though?
