D&D Online content

Free module soon.

Turbine has announced plans to release a 15-dungeon module for Dungeons & Dragons Online called Dragon's Vault - and it'll be available free this month.

Dragon's Vault also features a large-scale raid focusing on a vicious red dragon, says Turbine, with content for players of all levels.

It's the first in a series of planned modules, apparently.

"We are offering this exciting new content free to our subscribers, in recognition of their enthusiasm," says Jeffrey Anderson, Turbine president and CEO.

Old news, but good news. I'm waiting for my brother to get back from China to start playing this seriously. The make-your-buddy-try-this-for-free offer they are making is too tempting to pass it.

hmm D&D online.. totally instanced, dull, at least this is a start to make up for the lack of content though.
Still I'd rather play Guild Wars.

    "totally instanced, dull"

Hmm... thought you were describing GW there... :p

instances are not a bad thing but at least Guild wars has alot more hub areas to meet people (which arn't instances.. hmm) - not of course that an instance is bad but D&DOnline is however frankly a dull grind that isn't any good.

    a "dull grind" ?

wow that game really wasn't for you was it? - i'm level 5 (which roughly equates into level 25, for those who don't know) already, and have never had to grind at all. The story and quests are varied, and the missons are fun. It also introduces stealth and more action orientated combat systems....

and um, the whole city is a hub.. and taverns are a great place to meet people...

I agree with have the power... no grind is ever necessary, and there are a lot of things to do. Also it is easy to party and to play in an intelligent and "slow" way of playing. I think this as the mmorpg for people that don't like mmorpgs.

Well Its down to 25 euro in game and I almost bought it, but it just does not really appeal. I am sure they will be giving free trial access soon enough like all the others have done so might give it a whirl then.

Just a shame it misses out so much of what I considered important to D&D, esp wilderness. (And for those that dont know wilderness wandering monsters were a big thing in AD&D, with huge tables for different environments.)

Greyhawk(the world) would have made a wonderful setting for a game. Showing my age I suppose.
