Test Drive 360 E3 demo

Plus PSP, PS2 versions due.

Atari's planning to release a playable demo of Test Drive Unlimited for Xbox 360 during E3 this year - and has announced that PS2 and PSP ports will line up alongside the 360 and PC versions when the game comes out in the autumn.

Microsoft's pushing Xbox 360 content heavily through Xbox Live Marketplace during E3 week, and the TDU demo will be among those made available to Gold subscribers - and those observing the free week of Gold-level access - between May 8th and 14th.

Meanwhile, Atari Melbourne House will be putting in work on PS2 and PSP versions of the game, which Atari's termed a Massively Online Open Racing (MOOR) game - with the PSP version billed as "one of the first ever genuinely online games for the console".

I'm looking forward for Melbourne House's pull on this one, especially after Transformers.

    No Xbox version then?? Odd.

Of course not! It's coming to Xbox 360 and it's one of the biggest titles and one of the most anticipated titles for it. So, Microsoft doesn't want it to come out on the original Xbox... at least not at the same time. I'm sure they've made a deal to postpone a potential Xbox release a couple of months later or so.

"the TDU demo will be among those made available to Gold subscribers"
You can download demos with the free silver membership too you know :)
Enless it's changed specifically for E3?

    Looking forward to this one...

PSP & PS2 ports? surely they'll have to rip so much out of the game it'll be almost unplayable. Ok, maybe not as bad as that... but it won't be the game its supposed to be, on those formats.

Well that means it's also going to be on the ps3 as well.

Uhmm... Transformes was one of the most overlooked games on the PS2 IMO... hoping for at sequel on PS3 :)

jozz - indeed. Can they stop silver access people getting certain demos?

Not aware that they can restrict according to membership type, but I'd guess it's technically possible if they decided to. I actually think that would be a valid thing to do, and give more bandwidth to gold users. When these demos hit, marketplace is going to be shockingly slow - like when the Tomb Raider demo came out, x10.

does it matter? its free xbox live week so it's going to be slow no matter what i bet.

Really looking forward to this demo; the screenies look great. Doubt that MS will begin to limit certain demos to Gold account holders only as giving Silver account holders tasters as to what they could be doing on Live is their 'carrot' to encouraging people to get full Live accounts.

I'm also looking forward to playing the Chromehounds and Lost Planet demos....as well as digesting any news I can get on Halo 3.
