Codemasters is joining forces with Australian developer IR Gurus on a new aerial combat title called Heatseeker, due out on PS2, PSP and Wii in Q1 2007.
Described as a "lock-on/shake-off" sort of dogfighting experience, Heatseeker puts you behind the control of various real-life planes including the F-22 Raptor, F-15 Eagle, F35 Lightning II and Russian SU-47 Berkut.
There's no word on how it'll take advantage of the Wii's unique control scheme, but we do know that it's based on an advanced version of the engine behind Heroes of the Pacific, IR's well-received World War II title of late last year.
The intensity of battles taking place at high speed over the US, Caribbean, Antarctica and Far East will also be augmented by a special "Impact Cam", which allows you to watch missiles along their trajectory, with third-person cutaways helping to frame the aerial carnage.
We should have more details soon. In the meantime, check out PS2 shots and a single pic of the Wii version elsewhere on the site.
