Sorrow as Gauntlet PC canned

PS2 and Xbox versions still on.

Midway has reportedly decided to drop the PC version of its forthcoming Gauntlet remake, Seven Sorrows.

After US site 3D Gamers noticed the PC-CD logo had disappeared from the game's official, loud and annoying website, Midway confirmed that it is now a console-only title.

It should appear on PS2 and Xbox this winter.

This isn't the first problem Midway's Gauntlet project has run into, of course. Those that have been following its development (haven't you anything better to do?) will recall that both designer J.E. Sawyer and developer John Romero (he of Doom fame, mostly, although we quite liked his Pocket PC titles) have both left the project in recent weeks.

Midway said at the time of Sawyer's departure, the second to be confirmed, that "Development on Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows has not been impacted in any way as a result of his departure."
