E3 2007 Line-ups

Latest: Squenix, Konami, SEGA.

Eurogamer will be out in force at E3 this year, and, in order to save on petrol, Eurogamer will be out in fours at E3 this year. The event itself is smaller than usual, but with publishers spread throughout the beachfront hotels in Santa Monica, there's still an awful lot to vie for our attention.

With that in mind, we've put together this handy list of all the announced line-ups, and some that we've cobbled together ourselves by ringing people up and going, "No no, we don't want to change our appointment again!" to lull them into a false sense of security, before clicking "RECORD" and stealing their lists. Journalism, bitch.

You'll notice a few gaps. Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony are all keeping quiet ahead of their respective conferences, so all we've been able to fill in is stuff we've gleaned from other announcements and subsequently confirmed. Others, meanwhile, simply haven't said anything yet. And of course bear in mind that once the show starts all bets are off. Anyway, that's us disclaimed - enjoy the patchwork.

i could have sworn Kane & Lynch had also now been confirmed for PS3.
• Dizzy #8 5 years ago

Killzone 2... rofl. This is gonna be fun ;)
• GamesConnoisseur #9 5 years ago

People can swot up on how many game are available to which platform and so on (some publisher still to annouce though), but think so far it is pretty much balanced and Wii and DS taking a far more proportion of it compared to previous year. Not a big presence is there for PSP?
• Blerk #10 5 years ago

i could have sworn Kane & Lynch had also now been confirmed for PS3.

It has.

I actually came here to meh, but there are quite a few things on that list that I'd be interested in seeing. Curses! Foiled again!

"i could have sworn Kane & Lynch had also now been confirmed for PS3. "

it has, in Sci's financial statement a few months back (check eurogamers older articles), guess they'll only show the 360/PC versions at E3

EA's list is looking really strong.
• Talha #14 5 years ago

I never knew I'd say this, but EA's lineup seems to be the most promising, even if you take into account the sheer size of it. Then again, lots of publishers have yet to announce their plans. I wonder what Ubisoft is up to.
• kissthestick #15 5 years ago

apart from GH3 and the sega games not a great deal of 3rd party games for Wii, not that i care anyways

but Tecmo's Rygar could show up for it
• kissthestick #16 5 years ago

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames (PS3, Xbox 360)

also in dev for PS2 and PC but again i guess they're only showing the next gen console versions
• souljacker2000 #17 5 years ago

ooo i like the codemasters line up!!
• zozart #18 5 years ago

Always laugh when I see Gamecock, heh.

Looking forward to seeing Guitar Hero 3 (freakin' DLC please!); Rock Band (shaping up great!); Burnout Paradise; and Mass Effect.

I'll look into a few others like that Jenga game for the Wii and Bioshock even though we know loads about it already.
• spongebob #19 5 years ago

And I thought E3 was dead because it changed direction. From the looks of it, nothing has really changed. There's enough games to satisfy everyone. Now we'll just hope the coverage of the event goes well.
• smoothpete #20 5 years ago

Oh cockbiscuits, just re-read that and Sega haven't got a console version of AfterBurner Climax on their list. BASTARDS.
• WrongShui #21 5 years ago

Would of been nice to see a bunch of adventure games under the lucasarts section.

Instead we'll probably get shameless Shite Wars tie ins.

Edit : Although if its an X-wing/Tie Fighter game I'd eat my hat.

That list means nothing as E3 is always full of surprises, and where the fuck is RE5, all games are but ants compared to it.
• Vin #23 5 years ago

lolz @ Gamecock.

360 lineup looks lovely.

• Narv #26 5 years ago

Hmmm... no Op Flash 2 from Codemasters, obviously a while off then, or crap
• dadrester #27 5 years ago

where's duke nukem?
• GamesConnoisseur #28 5 years ago

Sony must be keeping ace cards to their chest and probably not even showing them at E3 for fear of competitors copying them!

Still expect them to give a strong presence but as it is not like E3 of old, where they do excessive PR and spin (Killzone 2, Motorstorm in '05?!) to make converts out of gamers and media. This time mostly for their own peers and limited audience so would not be suprised if they would be much more quieter.

Will be watching E3 updates next week and hoping Sony will put demos and video clips on their store as X360 will have, they need to give PS3 and PSP owners better buzz.
• Gurgeh #29 5 years ago

"Surely Take 2/Rockstar is showing GTA IV? :) "

Yeh but on which platforms?

I think Sony will be light on games but will announce a price cut for the PS3... in the USA only, and a new version of the PSP... in Japan.
• Tonka #30 5 years ago

Quick. Someone make an excell sheet and send it to me
• Tomnd #31 5 years ago

in answer to when is mass effect coming out, bioware responded (some months ago) "put it this way, it won't be at E3"

Sigh
• karstux #32 5 years ago

Very little PC love in that list there. Almost no exclusives anymore... :-(
• Mugwum Verified Operations Director, Eurogamer Network #33 5 years ago

"I could have sworn Kane & Lynch had also now been confirmed for PS3."

That's what you'd call a clerical error on my part.

Basically a lot of publishers were able to confirm games but not the specific format-versions likely to be shown. In all probability we'll see, for example, a lot of PC/360 games only shown on one of the two formats. It doesn't mean they're not making the other, or even that it's behind on production, but in terms of demonstrations it's simpler for them to manage.

And in the current environment, where we're often told the formats are very close together in terms of performance, I guess it makes sense on that front too, as they'll frequently insist, gripping a 360 pad, that the experience will be indistinguishable.
• Talha #34 5 years ago

@karstux: Fret not: Crysis will rule them all.
• Xerx3s #35 5 years ago

"GAMECOCK" what the hell kind of a name is that for a publisher.

A publisher that wants to do away with the arrogant, self righteous and shitty publishing deals that are around now. One of their policies i.e. is that the dev keeps the right to the IP. They are the guys behind GOD (2k now i believe).

• SeesThroughAll #38 5 years ago

Jack Tretton should have been killed for saying that. The asshole simply will not shut up...
• spongebob #39 5 years ago

Gamecock might sound hilarious, but so far their upcoming games lineup looks very promising. Good for them and hopefully in the end, good for us gamers, too.
• fisk #40 5 years ago

Games I'm really looking forward to: Mass Effect, Bioshock, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, Assasin's Creed.
I've been saying that for at least a year now. E3 has the chance to change that monotonous repetition!
Surprises I hope show up: Something new from team Ico, Nintendo aren't showing MP 3, they've already shown Mario Galaxy, and SSBM has it's own blog. Leads me to believe we'll be shown some surprises- new Pilotwings game, ya?
• SBfistfun #41 5 years ago

I agree Spongebob, I can't wait to get my hands on Gamecock's release either.....

Sony only showing Killzone 2??

And Haze, and Heavenly Sword, and Ratchet and Clank, and Uncharted....
• penhalion #44 5 years ago

Sony are showing a lot more than just KillZone 2. It's not a complete list. Some of their games fall under the online unbrella. Stuff like Little Big planet etc. etc.

Still it's not exciting when there are no real people going. I suspect that the big 3 will realise this pretty soon after the event. Only Microsoft are making a real effort to involve their 360 users with demo's and videos of the event.
• The-Bodybuilder #45 5 years ago

Too Human better be there.

And I don't see why MS would keep quite about that. I mean, it was playable (barely) last year at E3.
• zendragon #46 5 years ago

The "next gen" term should be banned. It's getting really old.
• zendragon #47 5 years ago

Exclusives are a dying breed, on any platform.
• Eraysor #48 5 years ago

• Tomnd #49 5 years ago

wouldn't the term 'next gen' now refer to the consoles coming out in another 5 years. Maybe they should start using the term 'better than last gen'.
• DanWhitehead #50 5 years ago

The most important title on that list: Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix

Indeed according to a previous statement by Ray Muzyka Mass Effect won't be at E3. Maybe he should get a job with Sony, I hear they are looking for more liers in their European office.

As far as he knew there weren't plans for them being at E3. Hell, its barely even known now. EG didn't find evidence of them being at it. Did you read the link in my post?
• Sorb #57 5 years ago

Yes I did TheStranger. But Dr. Muzyka is one of the two CEOs so not only does he know of the plans, he makes them! Well it's still not too late for him to *not* show it at E3 and *not* look like an ass I guess.
• NegativeZero #58 5 years ago

Ray Muzyka's comment was probably made with the assumption that Mass Effect would be releasing about now. It's not.

I notice that Too Human isn't on show this year. Don't want Dennis complaining about people thinking it looks ugly all over the interwebs again?

I also really hope that Midway are bringing TNA Impact to E3, especially because they've stated they're making their own game rather than creating a knock-off of what THQ releases. Doubly important, because they haven't released any information about it, other than IGN interviews with some of the consultants, and the announce trailer.

It's been quiet so far, for this new game, that's supposed to be out in Q1 2008.
• crouchy #61 5 years ago

Hmm Sony owned ip's already confirmed at e3 for ps3 are

Warhawk, Ratchet & Clank, SOCOM, Eye of Judgement, Uncharted, Killzone, Singstar, Little Big Planet, Heavenly Sword, Lair, NBA 08.

Sony are the 3rd biggest developer in the world not including collaborations!. Another mysterious article from eurogamer.
• AOFanboi #62 5 years ago

The "next gen" term should be banned. It's getting really old.

It would also be in the industry's interest.

As long as the three major consoles are called "next gen", there is an implication that there still is a "current gen" consisting of the PS2, Gamecube and XBox. And the only one of those three you can actually buy in stores is the (still going strong) PSTwo. Not to mention all the old PS2 owners selling their old work-horses second hand to buy a PS3.
• SeesThroughAll #63 5 years ago

Gamecock, Hail To The Chimp.....

What is the world coming to??
• Calgon #64 5 years ago

crouchy: That can't be right can it? Don't you mean publisher?(how many dev houses do they own?) If true I dont know why people complained about the few dev houses MS bought up(along with recruiting their own devs) when thats pretty much all Sony has done(except theyve had longer to do it).

MS are publishing some of the best(or atleast biggest if we are going to be subjective) games around these days IMO, theyve come along way in that respect in terms of quality and quantity. I do think MS is shaping up to be one of --if not-- 'the' best 1st party publisher/devs(provided all these promising games turn out as good as they look and sound). Nintendo have to be above Sony on that list surely? Id like to see where people are getting this information from, having said that its all meaningless to me when I cant find much in that list of Sony published games to get excited about(well from what Ive seen so far of them anyway).
