X360 PES to debut in Leipzig

Seabass is going and everything.

The Xbox 360 version of Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will debut at the Leipzig Game Convention next month, Konami has announced.

Obviously they're going to have some other games there too, on both current- and next-generation systems, but for now Konami's obsessing over the 360 PES.

Not content with merely showing it off, Konami will also have Shingo "Seabass" Takatsuka on hand to present the game. We'll let you know if it's possible to touch him.

Naturally we'll be on hand to play PES6, and whatever else Konami has lying around. And we'd be surprised if the other versions - for PS2, PSP, PC and DS - aren't lurking elsewhere on the stand.

For more on PES6, play the last one and imagine it looking better with more features.

If this still only has 1 vs 1 online play on the 360, I'll be most annoyed.

Atleast we finally get to see what it looks like on the 360 (not that it'll look good, considering they didn't even do the xbox versions justice).
  • coojam #5 6 years ago

Well anyone who play the PS2 versions a lot can see an obvious performance upgrade with the Xbox versions, and the graphics were a LITTLE smoother.

I've seen the gameplay of this for the Xbox 360 at IGN it looks like you're run of the mill Annual Pro Evo update, although i'll want some hands-on review to see if they've actually improved it into Next gen-ness (i.e AI for each player, more fluid animations, a mark up in ball physics basically all the stuff you can't tell just by watching it), or wether they gave it your current gen style upgrad ported to the Xbox 360 in high def.

I'm more interested in the online modes to be honest. I want 2 on 2 online fromm 4 seperate Xbox 360's. I want built in support for leagues and cups. I want a motive for playing through Master League, that impacts on the online game. I want lots of things. But I've already given up hope that the graphics will be 360-tailored. This will likely be a PS2 game - buffed up to faux 360 shine.

Is it not coming to the original Xbox then?
  • Yossarian #10 6 years ago

it would be awesome if they poured a great deal of effort into the 360 as the flagship version, buuuttt it's unlikely

    "Little" being the key word.

There really is no excuse. If EA (of all people) could do it for the (still) amazing FN3, why can't konami? Lazy buggers.
  • mr_chiquita #13 6 years ago

Yeah looking at that IGN vid mentioned this does look like a highly souped up PS2 version.

But by god does it look smooooth.

It's all for the highest common denominator really, which is till PS2. Shame really because a really good 360 version could shift a load of extra units.

There's still plenty of dev time left yet though.

yeah but EA is a total Behomth that has the manpower to do completely seperate devs of the same game, dont think Konami have those sorts of resources their disposal.

Anyway by that reckoning the two FIFA games, Tiger Woods, Madden etc etc should all have been hugely better than their last gen counterparts - that didn't exactly happen did it?

Prediction: This will be exactly like the PS2 version, but 'crisper' graphics and with achievments. There will probably 2 v 2 players online...but will still be laggy hence pointless!

BTW The IGN video you are talking about is the PS2 version, controller etc.. can be seen in the guy's hands and on the player menu.

That's subjective (except for the madden games, as I hear they've been the same for years).

They'll do whatever I tell them to do....

The guy was at a Xbox 360 booth.
  • oceanmotion #19 6 years ago

He was at a booth in a pub, with a PS2 controller in his hands, with the PS2 Pro Evo controller menu. It was the PS2 version. Plain and simple.
  • BM #20 6 years ago

The video on IGN of the supposed 360 version went out to all the different console versions of IGN. I posted the link on the PESfan forums, and got pulled up about it not being the 360 version on a number of occasions.

Not sure if it's the PS2 version or not because I can't remember seeing a pad, but it's definitely not the 360 version.

wow, if its the ps2 version and its all smooth and yum thats got to boade well for the xbox360
  • Ace_McCloud #23 6 years ago

There's no chance that video on ign is the 360 version. Its pretty much identical graphically to the old one. While Konami seem to be lazy sons of bitches in the graphics department, they're surely going to do better than that. On top of that Konami have always worked hard on animations, and the animations in that vid certainly aren't next gen.
  • effinwooly #24 6 years ago

back of the net !!!! cannot wait ! Is there a PS3 version of PES6 coming out then ?
  • Aretak #25 6 years ago

The version featured on IGN is the PS2 version, as made obvious by the PS2 controllers in the options menu, and the fact that it looks like a PS2 game.
  • miiiguel #26 6 years ago

Everybody I know that owned but a PS2, and now have a proper contemporanean machine (aka 360), suddenly, and with no sort of shame, drastically improved the term LITTLE...
