FootMan dev starts blog News

PC PSP Xbox 360 News by Tom Bramwell

4 September, 2006

Reliably cheerful and talkative Football Manager developer Sports Interactive has set up a page on MySpace, where the team intends to blog about some of the new features going into the 2007 edition, as well as its other games, and engage in a bit of banter with the likes of you. Well, maybe not you.

It's all accessible through www.myspace.com/sigames, and already there are some updates on Out of the Park Baseball 2006, Eastside Hockey Manager 2007 and of course our old pal FM.

Described as part one of many, the first FM update talks about how the latest version's been updated to be more user-friendly. Steps taken include the addition of icons used in the Xbox 360 version and regular hints and tips. "Even I've learnt things about the game that I didn't know about," host Miles Jacobson admits about them.

The full Football Manager 2007 boasts over 100 new features, he says, and of course it'll be out later this year on PC, Mac and Intel Mac, Xbox 360 and PSP.

Hi Neil. Thanks for the comments! I do drop by occasionally to see what's happening but have bascially given up on both FM and CM at present. I was for a while developing my own manger game too but it was just too much bloody work - the graphics in particular just looked too lame to bear. Anyhow, I'll probably get more involved now when the demo comes out. Some of the stuff you are now doing on scouting and talks, etc, should improve FM immensely.

Martin - as an experiment as much as anything. As far as we could see, no other software developer had their own myspace area, so we thought we'd give it a whirl and see whether it duplicated the audience to those on our forums, or whether we could reach a different audience. By the looks of things, there are a lot of fans of our games who use the site, as many of the people asking questions don't seem to know that we even have forums and talk to the people who play our games.
