I think you can only play as the Tau in this demo.

They are releasing a Necron demo in coming weeks iirc.

I disliked the imperials, don't klnow why, just did. The Tau are much better imo. :)

Yes its Tau only, and alot of fun they are aswell. Well they are when you fully upgrade the commander and he can fly about and kill entire squads.

Much though I like this site, articles like this serve to point out that now and again you lot really need to pay a bit more attention. Yes, it's Necron, not Neocron, No, there aren't any in this demo, and no, you can't play marines in the demo. Moreover the Tau Meatgrinder is not a unit, it's a strategy, and where they pulled the word "phases" from I don't wish to know. Also, it showcases one skirmish map with take-and-hold rules, and the first part of one mission that appears to be a fair way into, possibly even near the end of, the single-player campaign.
