EA announces E3 line-up

Good year for the PC.

Electronic Arts has announced its typically bulky E3 line-up, promising "a renewed focus on original and wholly-owned intellectual property" to "drive gameplay innovation" - with a particularly strong selection of PC titles.

Headlining will be the likes of Will Wright's Spore (PC), Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (PC - winter), Battlefield 2142 (PC - winter) and Crytek's highly anticipated PC FPS Crysis (also due this winter).

That's just the PC - with new title Army of Two (PS3, X360 - 2007) due to be shown off elsewhere, along with Superman Returns (multiformat - Christmas 2006) and new PSP titles Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover and NASCAR 07. There'll also be a place for the Xbox 360 version of Lord of the Rings: The Battle For Middle-Earth II, which is due out this summer.

EA Sports will be getting out and about too, with Madden NFL 07 (all formats - including PS3 and Wii), NBA Live 07, FIFA Football and Tiger Woods PGA Tour in evidence.

Some of it will be straight up front, while some will be limited to behind closed doors, but in any case EA's promising lots of depth to its showcases - and most titles will be playable.
