PlayStation 2 News by Tom Bramwell

3 August, 2006

We're still waiting to play Naruto: Ultimate Ninja over here, but that hasn't stopped Namco Bandai lining up a PS2 sequel.

Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles is due out on PS2 this winter in the States, and sees the eponymous Naruto - a ninja in training - completing story-driven missions in a 3D world to save the Hidden Leaf Village from evil, and fulfil his dream of becoming the Hokage (leader).

There'll be mini-games too, and we've got some screenshots for you to check out as well.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja is out on PS2 this November; Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles has yet to be dated for Europe.

Looks awesome, although better than the Anime, which can't be right ;)
If they can manage to carry over the great gameplay of the Naruto fighters from GC I may even buy something Naruto related for once.
"Has yet to be dated for Europe": Have we ever seen a Naruto release in Europe? No. Why would it be different this time?

Because the anime is gonna be released here soon. And it's coming out in half seasons unlike most anime which only come out 3 - 5 episodes per dvd. :)
I played a little of the Japanese version of this one and it played great. It's made by Cavia who had a hand in the Full Metal Alchemist games (part 2 and 3 of which were fantastic)

Wish I had bought the Jap version of Ultimate Ninja, as the American one has horrible voice acting. Plays well though, if a little repetitive in the move department.

Oh yes, it looks SO much better than rubbish like Twilight Princess, how on earth will Nintendo cope against the might of hip new-age kids and their PS2 Naruto. :D

I just wish they'd leave the Japanese dialogue in. The dub actors are all terrible.
