Tomb Raider: Legend trailer

Lara returns with more make-up, less chest and a brand new motorbike. Watch her go.

Eidos has released a new trailer for Tomb Raider: Legend, currently in development for PC, PS2 and Xbox. It's available now on Eurofiles.

The trailer shows our Lara rope-swinging, gap-jumping and baddie-popping her way through a variety of environments, including modern cityscapes along with the more traditional tombs and temples.

It doen't show her putting on make-up, though, which we imagine must take up at least half of her day since she now sports more eyeliner than a Bangkok ladyboy. But there is a bit where she's driving a motorbike, so that's good news.

No release date has been announced for TR: Legends yet - and probably won't be for some time, since Eidos won't want a repeat of the Angel of Darkness delays fiasco - but we'll keep you posted.

What's with the space bike ffs...

And you're right about the animation HP, the bit where she's backward flipping up those ramps. That looks DIRE!

is it bad that I've never played a TR game (other than the demo of the Saturn version)?

Yes. Play Tomb Raider if you can.

It's a game that still retains a wonderful atmosphere and some ingenius level design.

There's a new team behind it this time, so lets all give them the benefit of the doubt

"Prince of Persia with guns and motorcycles?"

Exactly what I thought. Doesn't look very appealing to me. I want to explore fantastic landscapes, caves, ancient ruins, etc. Not run around and shoot stuff in the city and drive motorcycles.

What I'd really like to see from Toby Gard is a sequel to Galleon (vastly underrated game IMO). Not very likely to ever happen, though.

level design what are you talking about. most people buy tomb raider because of that pixelated slut. sad pathetic people like hamzah mahmud who enjoy 1 handed gaming.

Yeah because looking at the same animation of a polygon ass running forward for hours on end is amazing and really the only incentive to play Tomb Raider 1 all the way through to the end.

    Get the fuck out.

I was very impressed with the trailer, right up until the bit with guns at the end.

Although it looks like good old Tomb Raider buffed up to current gen' gfx, and that's all I was wanting from AOD, somehow seeing it in action leaves me feeling a bit flat. Like a slight visual dust off is not enough after all.

Hopefully they'll get the atmosphere spot on, and make exploration fun once again, because the combat looks a bit ancient from the clip.

Whats with the lighting? It looks way to dark.

I was impressed up until i saw the skyscrapers, please let them be only a small part of the game.
It's Lara Croft:Tomb Raider not Lara Croft: Investment Banker ffs!
Still i'm hoping i'm just being too reactive and that they will manage to produce a playable, enjoyable game.

/ oh crap, it's got M0tOr8iK3s as well. Is this good or bad? hmm...
