Does anyone really play action games with a keyboard any more? Surely everyone has a pad?

Anyway - great news for the PC-only people! Share the love, etc.

RE4 in high-res should be something to behold...

Play have both DMC3 and RE4 down for 31st March - and only £15!

You wouldn't believe how many PC titles don't support gamepads at all.

Ubisoft have a particularly bad track record of releasing titles sans-gamepad support, Beyond Good & Evil being one of the most tragic examples.

So do people realize how well RE4 would translate to a mouse and keyboard combo?

They have rotational controls people, perfect for a mouse.

I may give RE4 another shot (on PC) if I can find a control scheme that suits me more.

Definitely getting DMC 3 again though. The same uber action but at 1024 x 768 rez -- the best just got better :)

I hope they polish up RE4 for the PC, and then release it for the X360 with all the additions from the PS2/PC versions.. I'd buy it again, then.

Not odd at all. Capcom got Eidos into distribute the original Resident Evil 3, after all. (Probably the one thing Eidos has done right that we can be thankful for...)

DMC3 I thought was OK. Onimusha 3 is a great game. But RE4 is where it's at and is the big one as far as ports go. 100% with people on keyboard/mouse combo - and with the good state of PCs today, they could up the enemy count instead of lowering it!

Only problem I see with RE4 is the trigger moments... they might translate rather poorly. (Better yet, get rid of most of 'em. They're nothing but a distraction from an excellent game anyway!)

BTW it's even more nerve-racking. I want that Special Edition for Devil May Cry 3 here in Europe for my PS2!

US PS2 owners have it.
Japanese PS2 owners will have.
Even PC owners in Europe and US will have it.

Only European PS2 owners are pissed off again.

Yeah, Jason. But they won't be releasing any, anyway, so you're not really losing anything :D.

How about Dead Rising, Lost Planet and, last but not least, of course, Resident Evil 5 ???

So what's the point of having a console anymore...

Console type games just feel wrong on a PC anyway.

RE4 would seem a bit crappy and overrated I bet - and very linear and restrictive.

Resident Evil 4 is not made for high resolutions. Hence, it will not look much better than it did on the TV screen. In fact, it will, as all other similar ports for the PC, actually be more noticable how low-res the textures really are. If not, of course, Capcom decides to re-model the entire game, which is extremely unlikely, at least until the next-gen begins to pick up and Resi 5 is still not finished, and they need the money. Even then, it's one hell of a commitment, and not likely to happen.

So, in short... This is good news for... Who? The people that can't even be arsed to get themselves a PS2 or a Cube? I don't really care much for those people. They've lost out on loads and loads of titles already, clinging to a "PC is best for gaming" dogma with the help of these new ports won't help them. Get over with it. Single platform gaming is an obsolete idea, especially if you by some nasty coincidence choose the by far most expensive platform available.

I'm a PC gamer myself, but that's just because I'm nuts enough to pay the price to have an updated rig. But losing out on all the extremely nice stuff on the consoles? That'd just be stupid.

I have this on the cube and will probably spring for it on the PC just to see it in a higher res and with the bonus content previously only available on the PS2. I wonder how nice it will look though, as oerhört said.
