Sensible Soccer 2006 demo
Available on Eurofiles.
Codemasters has released a PC demo of Sensible Soccer 2006, which is due out on PS2, Xbox and PC from June 9th.
Aaaand good news (for us anywho), it's launching exclusively on Eurofiles. You can download it now. Using the internet. It's 112MB.
The demo features England playing Argentina, and obviously we're already playing it in the office. Chris just scored the most outrageous bending left-footer.
Which is nice. As is the game, as you'll know if you've read our 9/10 review, which went live a few days ago.

The game plays like a half baked shareware version and its so god damn SLOW!!
Megadrive version will always be the best version.

Play.com are pre-ordering at £14.99 so I reckon it's well worth it by the looks of it. Like Rockstar's Table Tennis, I don't see it as a premium-priced game and therefore it's preceived value increases. £15 is a bob-on price for a smart-playing game.

I set it to 1600x1200 and it ran like treacle, then I set it to 1024x768 and it ran like the speedy Sensi of old. I think the game is set up not to drop frames, so will run slowly instead of jerky if the PC doesn't have enough punch.

Just wish the demo would let me alter the difficulty a bit so I could see what sort of challenge it can really offer up

Guess it's Xbox version for me, then!

Try turning down the graphics settings, or getting a half decent gfx card.

Demo wasn't slow at all, you've all either got Neo's reactions or the settings were screwed.
It was pretty tough at first, kept pressing the wrong buttons but once I got into it was great. Managed to lose to one of my mates and still haven't scored, hehe, but for 20 nicker it's an absolute steal I think.
One issue in the demo I had tho, the keeps seemed to warp... ie: they dissappeared and reappeared really quickly when they went to get the ball. Seemed to happen a little with sliding too, but I think it must have been a little bug.

didn't have any slowdown problems at all, but my work pc is pretty damn fly.
they have to do a handheld version. wifi multiplayer would be ace.

I use a PS2 controller on my PC and even with the rumble feature switched off in the settings the game still rumbles the pad and then leaves it on rumble for the rest of the match.
I'm in two minds about cancelling my pre-order and waiting to see if it's a problem others get with the full release.
