Lumines Mobile released News

Mobile News by MobileIndustry.biz

1 June, 2006

Gameloft has announced the worldwide release of Lumines Mobile, the latest version of Tetsuya Mizuguchi's hit puzzler.

Lumines Mobile sees players arranging falling blocks to match up colours and clear rows, to the sound of a variety of catchy tunes from the likes of Andy Hunter and Mondo Grosso.

The game has already been a huge hit on PSP, but the mobile version has been specially designed to allow for short bursts of play. Other features include new bonuses, new shapes and a third block colour. Mizuguchi was full of praise for the game when he spoke to us at E3 recently.

Lumines Mobile is available now in 75 countries, via 150 telecom operators. Different versions have been designed to suit a huge range of handsets, and prices range from GBP 3 to GBP 5.

Yep, got it for my s700i, it's superb. And killed the slight hankering for the PSP, based almost solely on wanting to play Lumines.

Like the Arcade levels, combining puzzle arrangements and time targets, but it's the Challenge mode (basically normal) that draws me in. Good music, decent skins, and I'm surprised it works so well vertically without needing to turn the screen widescreen in emulation of the psp.

I got it through the menu on my phone (t mobile Sony-Ericsson D750).

Just went into the 'games' section and there is a link to the download pages.

Cost me a fiver.

A fine effort, although there's no sound at all on my lo-spec Nokia 3220. I was rather surprised at how well the graphics work on the tiny screen, although smoother gameplay would be nice.

Definitely one of the better mobile games I've tried and not likely to go away from my phone for some time.

W800i still not working. Gets stuck when it asks about using sound or not. I have mailed Gameloft and they have said they will get back to me!

Just got it for £5 on my Nokia 7610. It's alright. Nothing special. Bit Tetrisy, I suppose.

Anyhow i got it from gamesloft and paid through paypal and cost me £2.12 which is a bargain as its the best mobile game ive had in ages pity my work breaks seem to go so fast at work now playing it ! lol

800i now working. Official reason seems to be that it didnt download and install to my phone correctly. However now when I launch the game the screen which asks whether you want sound or not appears to be different.

Anyhoo working and yes time to get rid of my psp and get a DS Lite.

Just thought you'd like to know I rang Gamesloft about Lumines not being available via SMS on their site (I dont have a credit card) and they have now rectified this.

There was no way im paying £5 from my fone credit, £3 from their site is an improvement.
