MK: Armageddon details

Features every single fighter.

Midway has confirmed that PS2 and Xbox title Mortal Kombat: Armageddon will be the last instalment in the series to appear on current generation consoles.

The game is said to feature "the most complete Mortal Kombat roster ever, including every character from the Mortal Kombat fighting universe." And if that's not good enough for you, there's even the option to create your very own fighter with the, er, Create-A-Fighter mode.

You can design your own special moves, too, thanks to the Create-A-Fatality option. There's also a brand new Konquest mode - no details as yet, but rumour has it that it's being developed around the Shaolin Monks engine.

Midway also confirmed that Mortal Kombat: Unchained is currently in development for PSP. The game will feature "multi-tiered interactive backgrounds", six new fighters, a selection of game modes including Wi-Fi multiplayer and a new Endurance mode.

Both MK: Armageddon and MK: Unchained are due out in the States this "fall", so expect a European release some time before Christmas.

If its appearing on the PSP lets pray it controls better than the virtually unplayable conversions of 1-3 on Midway Arcade Treasures... diagonals anyone.

Even though it probably will be based on the rather stiff and dated fighting engine from MK: Deception I might still pick it up due to sentimental value. I've played these stupid fighting games since I was a kid and if the roster truly is complete it will be awesome :)

Will it feature Brian Thompson as Shao Kahn, the sinister brother of German goalie Oliver Kahn? And, more importantly, will he eat moths?

Ah, well, since it's a punishable offense over here in Germany to actually own an MK game, I'll pass on it anyway.

I'm not an MK fan, but respect to these guys for trying something new.

    MK: Unchained should be decent.

I thought this had been confirmed by Midway as not getting released over here?

OXM were kicking up a stink about it in their mag this month...

To hell with the games, when is the third movie coming out? The first one is arguably one of the better game-to-film conversions (not saying much but anyway) and granted, the second one stunk but it still had some cool fight choreography and the soundtrack was a bit of alright.

BBIAJ - I think the Xbox version is missing out a release over here...PS2 version is still coming. To be fairly honest, Live would have done it justice.

Yet I don’t think Midway is selling well over here so they are going for the most popular console.

    Damn, that sucks.

Ah well, I'll least I'll still be able to get a version of it at least.

Kind if what I've had to do with Profect Zero 3, until M$ (hopefully), pick it up for release.
