X360 Battlefield 2 delayed News

Xbox 360 News by Paul Loughrey

1 March, 2006

Bad news for trigger-happy gamers looking forward to the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat - it's been delayed by a month, according to a post on the website of developer DICE.

The post reads: "The launch of Digital Illusions’ game Battlefield 2 Modern Combat for Xbox 360 will be in April 2006." So there you have it.

Presumably there's a little tweaking still to do, and the troops are probably going to need a little encouragement to step out into the fray again for a whole new audience. The plus side, of course, is that by the time the game does actually ship there will be bundles of Xbox 360s on the shelves - which means there's a much better chance of playing online against your friends and colleagues than some gobby, gun-obsessed 12-year old in Kentucky.

An exact launch date has yet to be confirmed, but we'll keep you posted.

It would have been a very bad idea for both companies concerned to release this and GRAW in close proximity.

I'd just like to point out how pointless and classless that statement was. As a 34 y.o. native of Kentucky, I think I've earned the right to be upset by asinine stereotypes such as this. Grow up Paul.......and leave the "witty commentary" to professionals.

admir, Ghost Recon is coming out on the Xbox1, does that mean GRAW on the 360 isnt "nexgen"?

And anyway, can you define for us all what "nexgen" is? I'd say anything which runs on a console which is still generally considered to be still "nexgen" makes it so.

No, I'm very aware of the "euro".....but that's no excuse for ignorance and stupidity. Or is it?

THWIP, are you saying in the whole of Kentucky there are no 12 year old gobby gun obsessed kids? Unless you can honestly answer "no" then its a fair comment. I certainly wouldnt want to play one.

Its not a stereotype, its a specific example.

A Battlefield 2 delay? I'm shocked.

I'd say anyone who uses the word nexgen and isn't joking needs to be bludgeoned to death with a large, blunt object. Like an Xbox.

It's obvious he's not really an American, he can read and write.
