Sorry. Civ 4 is my game now. It'd get mad at me if I tried to have fun with something else.

I really should get a copy of this game, although I'm dubious about giving them money after finding out the hard way how they treat their staff...

The Tau look cool irl, I hope the game does them justice.

Dawn of War is awesome, but it would be great if the single player bore some resemblance to the multiplayer. Singleplayer you can dally around as much as you like, build up a huge force and swarm across the map. Multiplayer by contrast is one of the most intense and aggressive games I've played: as soon as you've built something; send it out! Capture stuff! NOW!

Will be interesting how they balance the game with 7 races to play as!

@Smugglarn: It's unlikely to happen, as that would mean you won't need to buy their overpriced metal figures ;)

However I agree it would kick arse, and certainly beat losing your dinner table for 4 hours. Another bonus is that hidden units would be, as far as your opponent is concerned, HIDDEN - as opposed to having a small piece of card next to them :( Although saying that I'd hope they'd make it with 2nd Ed rules, so I can use psykers to whoop ass instead of gently tickle people. 3rd ed is for small kids who can't remember rules.

Seconded. OH SO SECONDED! The new rules are a disgrace to the 40K universe. :[

Another expansion.... YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Now, about the seventh race... considering that Dark Eldars are no-no, and that Daemon/Witch hunters are much too specific to be used in the DOW context, the choice is between Tyranids and Necrons. Tyranids would bring tears of joy to my eyes, but having seen what happened with DoW and Winter, I guess the seventh will have to be Necrons. Not bad, but I will miss the Great Devourer...

Edit: about the rules... 4th Ed is good, the scenario are varied and the game is now much more tactics heavy. Some simple evolutions made the game much better than the 3rd ed was.

It's so going to be the Necrons, but you are right; Tyranids would have been much cooler.

Thank God its was'nt just me that stopped playing when GW changed the 40K rules. 3rd version fails hard, especially if your a Imperial Guard player.

Imperial Guard? Ouch. Saying that I wouldn't play them in 2nd ed either, I like my elite troops with a good ballistic skill :)

Eldar/Blood Angels all the way!

I hear its the Necrons. Which confused me initially, having not played since the Tyranids were new and exciting and thus not having the faintest clue who they are. Don't get me started on the Tau.

Squats? You mean someone actually played them? I spent a year working in GW during 2nd ed time, and never met someone who owned even one squat model :)

The Tau have some very cool robot battlesuit type things. If I had money and time and patience to play now, I'd probably start a Tau army because they're really easy to paint effectively. Although I should probably finish my slannesh army first (not that you can play a pure slannesh army under the retarded new rules)

I've still got a nagging feeling that it's going to be tyranids, but I suppose necron would make more sense as a package with the Tau. Sort of the whole mechanical dealio.

Tyranids might be tricky. How would you defend a listening post? Spore mines?
