Ubi dismisses Rayman rumours
It's out on all formats this year.
Ubisoft has confirmed to Eurogamer that Rayman Raving Rabbids will be appearing on multiple formats by the end of the year, despite claims to the contrary by our old friend Internet Reports.
Rumours have been flying that the limbless French wonder's latest adventure will be exclusive to Nintendo Wii until May next year - but that's not the case, according to a Ubi spokesperson, who told us that it "Rayman Raving Rabbids will not be exclusive to the Wii until May next year".
Apparently, the game "will be released on old and new formats before the end of 2006, with dates to be announced soon". So, thats cleared that up then.
Rayman Raving Rabbids is being developed under the watchful eye of Michel Ancel, Ubisofts jewel in the development crown, who hasnt worked on the franchise since Rayman 2 for the Nintendo 64.
Just to reiterate, the game is due out before the end of the year on DS, PS2, GBA, PC, Xbox 360... And Nintendo Wii.

Rayman for Wii will feature pointless (semantics) minigames while the others focus on platforming action?
How on earth did you come to that conclusion?

Rayman 2 DC is also one of my platforming faves, Rayman 3 didn't do anything for me whatsoever so when they're this cagey about showing what the game's actually about I lose interest.

didn't play any previous rayman games, so i can't judge on that.

Bear in mind who's developing it.
I have faith.

If correct, I'm curious to see what the other formats offer...

i would very much prefer the action adventure offer but having played and enjoyed party games with all my friends struggling for a controller.. this could actually be equally cool.
