Looks very bland, to say the least. I would like to see all the blades of my dashboard with the theme I applied, but what is this bullshit? I can barely see Marcus from GoW (same theme as mine). The avatars look wack too, and I liked my Gamer picture so I don't want to change it. Even if I'm given a choice, I feel forced to use the avatars now.

Scout has zero Gamerscore. What a n00b.

We've got no choice anyway, but it looks ok. My concern is how long these screens are going to take to load up fully - I've got a good connection, but even now it can take a while to fill out all the thumbnails on the XBL Marketplace. The idea of leafing through various games etc is good, but it's not going to be much use if they're all blank and still loading. Hopefully they've streamlined the downloading of this content for the update.

I think it looks good. So far every update brought us more menus and more categories and eventually less space to actually display any content. Looks like this will improve navigation quite a lot.

Actually, didn't I read somewhere that you could keep the old dash layout if you wanted to? Not sure.

Personally, I think they couldn't make it any worse - I find the current dash dreadful to use and I welcome almost any change. This looks decent, certainly better than it was. I'm still fearing though that it won't natively support higher resolutions which I don't understand and think really is a shame. For the dashboard they really should use native resolution outputs, not upscaled ... but all the 1080p shots I've seen so far were upscaled from 720p, which looks bleh. I'm using a 1680x1050 monitor for my 360 right now and the graphics upscaled from 720p look yuk, including the dashboard.

The 360 is optimised to be plugged into a HDTV not a PC monitor - and that is how is should be.

No you can't keep the old one, but the new guide will become a near-duplicate of the existing dash. And they've confirmed that this update will bring support for weird PC resolutions like 1440x900 and 1680x1050.

Actually... I think this *looks* more confusing than the older one. I'm sure it'll make sense when I'm using it.

Looks nice, much better than the old one. The only thing I truly hate is that massive slab of grey, right in the center of the screen. What the hell is that about?
