New PS3-compatible phone launched
Aino features virtual controller buttons.
Sony Ericsson has launched Aino, a new mobile phone which works with PlayStation 3.
As explained on the official website it's got Remote Play functionality, which means you can access photos, music and videos stored on your console's hard drive from anywhere there's an internet.
The Aino can also be used as a remote control. Thanks to the virtual PS3 controller buttons on the 3-inch TFT touch screen you can power up and power down your machine, access the XMB, browse your stored content, make use of PlayStation Network and buy stuff in the Store. Plus, if you've got the PlayTV digital video recorder, you can watch and record live television.
Other features of the Aino include GPS, an 8-megapixel camera and Facebook integration. But has it got Snake?

What use it as a mobile phone? No.
"wow, come on Sony its 2009 not 1999."
WTF is that supposed to mean? How is a mobile phone that can also access the data on your console and stream it to you, not a modern thing?

The instructions made me chuckle too. 1 - Select remote play on your phone 2 - Set up PS3 for remote use. Hello? I can access my PS3 from anywhere, I just have to be right next to it for this to work...?
Also, couldn't they think of a better name than Aino? Sounds as if they like it up the Gary.

This phone looks quite interesting, and as I am due an upgrade in a couple of months it may well be on the shortlist. There is an online store where applications, games, etc can be bought 79p to a few quid, and it's music playback facilities are supposed to be top notch.

Most of Europe uses cable tv, the only channels I can receive using play tv are government backed channels. In other words, only crap is shown on them.
If PlayTV were compatible with the DVB Cable variant, it would be really viable outside the UK
I can't help it that the UK is backwards on practically everything, No Euro (I'm still laughing at that one), using stones and pounds for weight measures, miles for distances, and cable tv is yet another thing that most people in Brittain can't enjoy
As far as I'm concerned aside from Simon Cowell, football and top gear, there is nothing good coming out of the UK
