New Prinny, Shadow of Memories for PSP

Penguins and time-travelling whodunits.

Nippon Ichi has announced a sequel to Prinny: Can I Really be the Hero? for PSP.

No title, let alone a date or game content, was given, according to IGN.

Prinnys are penguin things from RPG series Disgaea, and were given their own starring-role earlier this year. Our Prinny: Can I Really be the Hero review has more.

Also on PSP-watch: news that Konami will make a handheld version of Shadow of Destiny (Shadow of Memories in Europe) - a PS2 game released at the turn of the century.

This adaptation fits around the same storyline, which intriguingly follows a man looking for his own murderer, travelling through time to piece together the clues.

The PSP game will be out next year, reported GameSpot - expect more detail closer to the time.

Nice to see Shadow of Memories get another chance, it's an interesting title that got a bit overlooked in the early days of the PS2. The style of play should suit the PSP quite well.

Too bad the game itself was a bit rubbish.

Seems an odd decision to port over such an obscure title, unless they are actually remaking significant portions of it.

Maybe this Prinny game won'e be 31.99 on the store then?!!!! THE most insane bit of pricing yet.

I thought Shadow of Memories was great, I loved the concept, will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Shadow of Memories is one of my favourite games ever. An unfairly neglected classic and one of the few games I've ever played where I actually wanted to play it multiple times in order to see all the endings. A storytelling masterpiece.

This, coupled with the fact that Valkyria Chronicles 2 is on the PSP, makes it seem that Sony are determined to get me to buy a PSP.

Shadow of Memories. Oh, I've died and gone to heaven. Probably one of my favourite games of all time. Incredibly overlooked by the masses. Hopefully this'll spurn interest in the game and they'll make a sequel. If they decide on which ending is actually canon, hahaha.

Shadow of Memories is a great game and deserves a next-generation rebirth!

SoM, hell yes! I got every ending. The final one is incredible in terms of player narrative empowerment. Really big spoiler alert, you have been warned! You could choose not to pick up the jewel that starts everything, and so the game finishes happily and only takes about two minutes to play through. Utter genius.

    Please, someone make a sequel!
