New PAL Releases Roundup
Don't mention the Modern Warfare 2.
So, Modern Warfare 2's out. But that's enough of that. More than enough.
The brave few who also chose to dance into shop-land this week struggle to nominate a leader, with honours probably falling to SimBin's Race On for PC, another no-doubt expertly observed simulation, this time covering Touring Cars from 2006 to 2008. New tracks include Laguna Seca and Road America, but it's probably fair to say that if you're into this then you already know that and don't need me or Wikipedia telling you anything.
Elsewhere it really is slim pickings. There's Invizimals from Sony, which may as well be EyePet PSP; there's Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage, which is a decent game but a fairly slight sequel; and there's Tropico 3, a management sim set in a banana republic.
One game that probably has nothing to fear from Activision's war juggernaut is Cooking Mama 3 on DS, although perhaps assuming there's little in the way of demographic overlap is the same wrong conclusion we often scold others for jumping to. But you know, we're probably on safe ground.
Then there's Tornado Outbreak, which gets a mention for no other reason than the bullet points on the back of the box. There are two. They are:
- Epic Boss Battles
- Destroy Everything
Woo videogames!

I played the PC version and I have to say that it should be more or less the same but with a gamepad. Easy to use and you can tell the game even on the PC has a feel and touch of a console game. Even the menus and the construction lists are obviously made for a gamepad's convinience. The game itself is a lot of fun and different from the regular strategy games. If you have seen what its about and you liekd it it will be better playing it than it looks. Strange and I only like it cause its refreshing. And good at what its trying to be as a game.

As for next week... neither Assassin's Creed 2 nor Left 4 Dead 2 interest me but I should be getting the God of War Collection on import and that will be my last game of 2009. I can now just concentrate on playing/finishing the ones I have!

Where did you order God of War collection from and how much?
i was lucky and got a demo code for no.3. I like it but i'm not blown away by it although i am enjoying it more with each play through.
have you had the chance to try it out, if so what did you think?

It cost just under £30 including £1.99 postage and packing. I've used them before for the odd import PS3 game and Blu-ray movie and although they can be slow with deliveries taking 7 to 10 days (since most stuff is shipping from Philadelphia in the US), they are reliable.

It looks as if it went up and has been reduced again since I ordered it as it only came to £28.98 including p&p when I ordered it mid-October. My order is still showing £28.98.
