New Modern Warfare 2 DLC dated

Resurgence Pack on track for June.

Activision has announced that the Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack will be released for Xbox Live users on 3rd June.

Inside are five new maps, although they're not named.

To celebrate, Infinity Ward will host two double-XP weekends either side of release: one on Friday, 28th May and Friday, 4th June.

There's no mention of price, but Resurgence offers the same amount of content as the Stimulus Pack, which cost 1200 Microsoft Points (£10.20/€14.40).

The Stimulus Package was exclusive to Xbox Live for 30 days, and the Resurgence Pack is likely to follow that example before appearing on PC and PS3.

  • LHH #3 2 years ago

    definitely a non-buy for me!

I did hear that Activision will disband IW after the next dlc so at least there is something interesting to note about this dlc

Bit too soon after map pack 1
  • SAMagic #5 2 years ago

F*ck me, so for 2400 points people are paying for 10 maps!

Kotick is going to pull the poor cash cow's teet clean off at this rate.

I thought Activision said this was coming out at the end of the year!? I bet they are pushing this out and closing IW within a couple of months.

What a sorry state of affairs

Heard that the two COD4 Maps were going to be Vacant and Shipment?
  • LiveForever #8 2 years ago

Should charge 50. There will still be idiots who will buy it.

Shipment....with OMA and the many new killstreaks? fuck right off, wouldn't play that if they paid me.
  • Mark1412 #11 2 years ago

AC-130 on Shipment would be hilarious.

Really disappointed that the Stimulus Pack didn't contain any new Spec-ops, would have justified the increased price with 5 or so missions as well as the maps. Sounds like this is going down the same route.

Well that was fast... to be honest SSFIV is eating up all my online time, outside of Guild Wars or Warcarft that is. Haven't even prestiged once.

Stick on SSFIV arcade mode with ranked req and its a faster and more enjoyable experience, can't wait for the championship free DLC. I'm starting fall out of like with online FPS MP even the Reach beta hasn't held my attention much.
  • bratmandu #13 2 years ago

Mmm more content to not buy for a cursor wielding contest I no longer play.
  • wizlon #14 2 years ago

Resurgence... why does that sound like Recycled?.. as in selling old maps for £10.
  • CaptainQuint #15 2 years ago

Anyone know what the trade-in value of this game is? I really need to make use of it whilst it's still sought after.
  • Lotos8ter #16 2 years ago

Cap'n - I got £25 trade at Blockbusters last week which ain't bad. Its going on Red Dead next week.
(Game were only offering about £12)
  • Mark1412 #17 2 years ago

Game really are scum. They will sell the copy of MW2 they would have bought from you for £12 for £35.
  • wizlon #18 2 years ago

HMV seems to pretty good for trade ins too.
  • tachometer #19 2 years ago

    Resurgence of my middle finger
  • mashk #20 2 years ago

They can fuck off. Do they really think people are THAT stupid?
  • Markitron #21 2 years ago

They DO think people are that stupid. And they are right, judging by the sales figures of the last pack

"They can fuck off. Do they really think people are THAT stupid?"

No the people who constantly bitch and moan and calling everyone who buys any DLC for MW2 stupid are, I bought the Stimulus DLC for MW2 and you know what I don't regret it one bit, but I also do like BFBC2...in all honesty it always boggles me how single minded gamers are when it comes to companies like Activision.

And also I'm getting sick and tired of people treating Robert Kotick like he's a heartless and evil man who kills babies, he's just a businessman, yeah he can be a douchebag at times but honestly I bet there are people out there 100x worse than him
  • iamian #25 2 years ago

yeah - like the Baby-Eating Bishop of Bath and Wells!

    Rabble rabble!

Surprised nobody has mentioned how awesome Bad Company 2 is. Must be some sort of record for a piece of Call of Duty news!
  • CaptainQuint #27 2 years ago

Haven't played Bad Company 2 since Reach kicked my arse all over the place and continues to do so. After that, I think I'll probably return to Uncharted 2 instead of BFBC2; the latter of which really needs new maps.

Still goggled eyed at the E15 price tag for a few maps. I enjoyed playing MW" online, but I stopped when Bad Company 2 came out, MW2's map pricing has soured the experience of what is a top online game.
  • ronuds #29 2 years ago

I hope they charge 2400 pts this time. Might as well as there will be people who will justify the price. Heck, go for 3600 pts. and see what happens! 3m sales, guaranteed!

  • Ryboy #30 2 years ago

Why. Why? Why?! WHY? FUCKING WHY?! Do fucking GashBox owners get this fucking first?!

AAAARRRGGHHHHHHHH BY THE POWERRRRR OF GREYSKULLLLLLL!!!!!!!!

    CUUUUNNNTTTSSSS!!!!!!
  • TheRealBadabing #31 2 years ago

This is disgusting, don't they realise I can buy the Desperate Housewives Season 1 boxset for that price? Activision can talk to the hand as far as I'm concerned!
  • Physically_Insane #32 2 years ago

Too much Activision hate in this thread. I'm going to buy it because I still play MW2 online and will get hours upon hours of gameplay out of these maps. So fuck you all with your predictable, cynical comments. It's only a tenner ffs. I'll spend that in my first round when I go down to the pub later tonight.
  • Douche #33 2 years ago

There is of course a price level that people will not go to. 1200 points, clearly, is not it.

People need to get over this. Shitloads of stuff is overpriced.

  • smernicki #34 2 years ago

didn't buy the first pack, won't buy these
  • SavageEvil #35 2 years ago

Hey look at how fast these map packs are coming out, makes you wonder if Activision is worrying that this game is basically running on empty. They sold 18m MW2 games and about 2.5m map packs on 360, even less on PS3 and PC, doing the math I'm willing to bet that giant gulf is what Activision is worried about, guaranteed the second map pack will sell even less than the first.
  • insincere_dave #36 2 years ago

What's the point in all these new maps, surely people know their way around the levels by now?
  • Lunatic4ever #37 2 years ago

    how much? 30 bucks?
  • Pirotic #38 2 years ago

I got the first map pack and don't really regret it considering the amount of time I spend on the game, and how few levels it shipped with. But a 2nd map pack so soon can fuck right off. They must be rushing so they can get a 'gold' edition with all the maps released before Black Ops later this year.
  • Jazzy_Geoff #39 2 years ago

    I'm getting it because;

    1) I still play online quite a bit
    2) I'm not a poverty stricken child
    3) I want more maps
  • southpaw #40 2 years ago

Traded in my ps3 copy at hmv for £25 not bad as I only paid £27 for it new! Red dead redemption might tempt me to trade my 360 version as wel
  • Demiath #41 2 years ago

    Please just shoot me.
  • hulkamania78 #42 2 years ago

I ll buy it tenner is nothing when you work. And also there aint any real stella games out in June, So for a tenner it gets a bit more mileage. Its a matter of choice no need to bitch just dont buy it end of.
  • SILOS85 #43 2 years ago

MW2 has made Activision more money than was ever needed. They are probably not too worried about low dlc hits. Though they were probably surprised at how easily people would switch to Battlefield. Their biggest concern will be to try and close IW asap due to increasing migration to Respawn. Nothing damages PR like rats leaving the sinking ship! Kotick will continue COD til its death. Treyarch and others are competent enough to keep the ball rolling and the brand alone will keep a large fanbase regardless. EA and project $10 has kept the fanbase fairly sweet but now we're seeing much the same from EA. £1.19 for a recoloured outfit and a few trophies? Battlefield will soon be knocking on your wallet...
  • Ryboy #44 2 years ago

Fuck off you negging Xbox rape babies.
  • ginge51 #45 2 years ago

Got i hate this pathetic overpriced game.
  • TitusCrow #46 2 years ago

Have bought and will by neither of these. Promoting this level of *high margin* product is not ok.
  • headrush #47 2 years ago

Bought the first dlc and didnt regret it. But I have moved on from the game by now, so I wont shell out any more cash for mw2.
  • beastmaster #48 2 years ago

They are going to have to be quick with the DLC. With MOH coming out later in the year and their own Black Ops around that time, I'm not surprised by this move. I also expect there will be a weapons pack and black ops pack or some such thing pretty soon. Oh and don't forget those other great maps from the last game to make the transition too. 'Because gamers demand it!!!'.
  • RazorObsession #49 2 years ago

if they were all new maps, i wouldn't give so much of a shit, but don't go telling me i demand old maps! your bloody mapathy campaign proved that i was over people being in the predictable spots apparently, so your answer is to give me old maps that i was already over 2 years ago!
  • geeza2020 #50 2 years ago

"a tenners not much when you work"

That previous post somebody made of "a fool and his money" seems extremely apt here.
  • Gormless #51 2 years ago

New maps sound really good but fucking Vacant and Strike? Hang on let me guess a 3rd map pack is coming out in August and we will get Crossfire and District then.
  • goondocks74 #52 2 years ago

It's pointless getting angry about this. At the end of the day, we have a choice, buy it, or don't buy it. I 'm not going to buy any DLC for any game that costs 1200msp unless I think it's worth it. These map packs are not worth this kind of charge, if they were adding another 3-4 hours of campaign, or spec ops missions, it might be a different story.
I personally wont be buying any MW2 DLC, not because I hate the game, but because I think activision are milking their customers, and I hate to see companies do that kind of thing. I happens day and daily with just about everything else, and gaming is my form of escapism from day to day annoyancies, and I don't want this kind of overpricing to become the norn here.
unfortunately, enough people will buy the DLC to justify activision's pricing.
  • Dave52 #53 2 years ago

First day for me... Looking forward to playing Vacant again.
