New Marvel vs. Capcom game in works?

Comic boss drops a big hint.

There may be another Marvel vs. Capcom fighting game in the works.

That's according to Marvel Productions boss Kevin Feige who, when asked if there was another instalment of the fighting series planned, all but stamped, kicked, and punched confirmation on one.

"Yes," Feige cryptically told IGN. "And maybe sooner than you think."

Little else - such as dates, platforms, engine (Street Fighter IV perhaps?) - is known about the project.

The series, rather unsurprisingly, pits famous Capcom characters like Ryu against well-known Marvel superheroes like Wolverine. We've rather enjoyed past instalments.

Capcom was unavailable for comment at time of writing.

    Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is totally badass. The only thing they need to change is the music, which in my opinion is the worst music I have ever heard in a game.

    Eraysor: I've heard this a lot about MvC2, and frankly I've never understood it, because I always thought that the MvC2 soundtrack totally kicked ass. Smooth jazz in a hectic 2D fighter...loved it! :D

    with Tatsunoku vs. Capcom in development, and the resurgence of fighting games, this could well be a possibility.

    Activision currently hold the Marvel rights AFAIK.. we won't be seeing MvC3 before they run out..

    I thought they only had Spidey? Didn't EA have the whole thing and recently lost it? (i may be wrong there!)

    To me it just seemed like the soundtrack had no relevance to what was going on on the screen. You don't normally hear funky jazz in movie fight scenes :p

    I haven't played the game for years sadly, so I might have a better ear for it now anyway!

    I liked the soundtrack, different that's for sure but still catchy.

    Hands up though DC owners, who earned the characters themselves and who cheated and used a game save off the net?? :)

    @bad09: I had the DC version, I earned all the characters myself, and I got the number one slot on one of the arcade units in Akihabara. Ok, so the machine looked like it had been recently reset, but I still beat the game on 1 credit which I had never done with another game before. Cable + Iron man + War Machine = unbeatable.

    I am looking forward to another installment in the series.

    I would say it will probably just be based on the Capcom vs. Tatsunoko engine as there's very little chance of that game being seen outside Japan with all the licensing issues involved.

    Loved the soudtrack, I like to "create" weird soudtracks to my games. Ladytron with UT3... awesome!

    Great stuff! Got MvsC 2 for the Xbox and love it to bits. I loved the music, especially the character select screen. Kudos to Aretak for posting the "lyrics". :-D Only problem is that it doesn't seem to work 100% with the 360's backwards compatibility - the character sprites go all funny.

    Yes! Can you imagine how awesome the animation would be on a PS3? This is assuming it's going to be a 2D sprite thing like before. Allow 3D, this should be as much like MvC 1 as possible.

    good to hear marvel will soon be where it belongs again!
    now capcom annouce that xmen children of the atom hd remix and final fight hd remix are coming to XBLA and all will be right in the world!!!!
