New Lost Planet Colonies details News

PC Xbox 360 News by Ellie Gibson

12 March, 2008

The first details of Lost Planet Colonies have popped up in scans of a magazine article over on Kotaku.

Apparently you'll be able to play as a girl this time around. And if you're playing online, you'll be able to take the bugs' side and fight the humans. Expect more weapons, new enemies and monster eggs.

The game is said to be in development for PC and Xbox 360, with cross-platform online play promised. It's due out in Japan on 29th May.

Capcom UK has said the details are legit, at least as far as the Japanese version goes. The features of the European game are yet to be confirmed. A representative told Eurogamer, "We will be able to shed some official light on this tomorrow."

Let's hope it's not as irritatingly 'old school' as the first one! It was a nice looking game who's gameplay was far too traditional and punishing punishing for no good reason. Oh and the story was absolute bollocks (was anyone actually able to follow it?). It wasn't as good as I was hoping it was going to be, certainly.

Isn't this just going to be a re-release with all the DLC and a few extra bells and whistles?

Wouldn't be so bad but Capcom are going to be asking full whack for it.

The singleplayer was alright but nothing special. 7/10. The multiplayer was fantastic. 10/10

Heavily expanded MP content, play as Akrid and lots of other neat things.

Thats part of the reason i love Capcom games. DMC4 is rather "old school" and i love it for that.

Lost Planet was 'old school' to the point of being unfair though, aka no fun.

Nah, penhalion. It's the same, single guy sitting in a dingy office that calls himself Sony UK, Nintendo UK and Microsoft UK on alternate weekdays.
