The girls knee joints look a bit weird, and the lighting effects (I hope) are missing but not bad. Anyway graphics aren't the important thing with L4D, it's the carnage!

The Source engine is really starting to show its age, despite the numerous upgrades. Everything looks so boxy and the lighting has nothing on more modern engines. And why are the maps always so small in Source engine games?

Left 4 Dead feels like a game that could be so much better using a different technology..

Source does a fantastic job in L4D and I certainly wouldnt want it swapped for some overly processed, framerate crippled engine that looks great in screenshots but can't actually handle the huge crowds of zombies that L4D throws around.

But hey, if the screengrabs aren't either photorealistic or overly particle-and-bloom-laden then it can't possibly be a great playing game can it?

Looks terrible, just further proves my point that this is a cash in and is not needed.

Yes, that's correct, your opinion "proves" your point. That's how it normally works.

Most of the pictures look pretty good except for the one with the guy with the gold coloured glowing halo around him. Both him and the woman behind him appears to be standing in mid-air (maybe the woman in red is standing on a spikey fence). Also there's a white line across the screen. But this is probably only noticeable in static screen shots and wouldn't be noticeable in the game.

Hmmm they really shouldn't have bothered with those screenshots. With the lack of zombies and drama it could be a Wii game, it actually brought Dead Rising Wii to mind.

I have to admit that the daytime setting really doesn't show the Source engine in the best light (hohoho!). That said, it's not a slow-moving game where you have time to admire the scenery anyway so I won't really care when I'm actually playing it.

Wouldn't be surprised if Valve has some people working on a Source Engine 2 which they will roll out once the Half-Life 2 story is complete and they're developing a new full single player title.

Well, tell that to my PC which is running at 1920x1200 with 16xAA and 16xAF, V-Sync'd up with all in-game graphics settings maxed. It looks absolutely fucking tremendous running at capped FPS, constantly.

Source is 100% perfect for L4D and will be just as good for L4D2.

I agree that the game looks kind of dated. I dont care much though and i do like the new daylight setting.
I remember how dissapointed i was with the original at first but after a few playthroughs got addicted to the game.
