New Harry Potter game before film

Half-Blood Prince brewed for July.

Electronic Arts and Warner Bros. will release the new Harry Potter game here on 3rd July, a couple of weeks before the new film (17th July).

We're onto the sixth and penultimate book now, the Half-Blood Prince, and the world is gloomier still. Thankfully this means plenty of wizard duels - plenty of screams of "Stupify!", "Expelliarmus!" and "Avada Kedavra!" Ron's love life will also be playable, disgustingly, and we'll be able to embark on some Quidditch and potion-brewing as the story flows on.

Once again the game is being made for every platform, and once again we hope this instalment is better than the rest. EA has had an extra six months to polish, thanks to Warner delaying the cinematic launch to cover weak spots on its release schedule.

I imagine despite having an extra six months of polish it'll still be a turd.

the turd being the film or the game? or both?
    I plump for both..

    It's "Stupefy"!

    Sorry, had to.

Also, I agree with @Eraysor. The 6months additional development time will amount to nothing. The only good HP game to date was the Prisoner of Azkaban. It was quite a bit like Zelda and you got to swap out your own spells. None of this pseudo-motion-control, contextual bullshit. While it wasn't huge, it took a decent stab at an openish world. More colourful too, than the fifth game.

Saw the trailer for the film the other day, that looked promising...

The game will most likely suck, but they've been preparing it since they started work on the first game, sort of, and the book has been out for a few years now, and they knew they were going to gameify the book since forever, and with six extra months on top of that, they should have had enough time to make a decent game...

and yet they will fail, of course.

Just because they delayed the game for 6 months, doesnt actually mean it got 6 months extra of development time ;)

I liked the last one, not great but very pleasing on the eye and plenty to do.

Will no doubt buy this as well.
