New Guitar Hero trademark pops up News

DS News by Tom Bramwell

29 January, 2008

Activision has registered the trademark "Guitar Hero On Tour" in the US, but the publisher's British representatives had no comment to make on that this morning.

Inevitably there is speculation that this could be the name of the DS version of Guitar Hero mooted last year.

It's certainly not the name of anything on Activision's release schedule, and the publisher is another of those spoilsports that refuses to comment on rumours or speculation.

Developer Vicarious Visions has previously hinted at an actual peripheral to go with the DS game, although we somehow doubt it will be an enormous PS3/360-style guitar that you plug in to the cartridge port or anything.

We asked Activision for more details on the DS version of Guitar Hero and they told us to go away, which is fair enough because it was two in the morning and how did we get their home address.

Guitar hero is sort of becoming like the sims with all the milkage. I've heard there will be 3 versions of the game this year. Sadly none of them have the power rangers theme tune.

On another note, I think I'm in love with that blonde elf lady who is in the Circle of doom adverts you have been runningn all week.

I want to marry her.

Guitar Hero: Theme tune edition - play your favourite theme tunes and songs from movies and TV!

I give it less than 2 years before we see it.

I would love to see effects pedals be implemented in future versions.

Also the ability to have extended versions of songs with impromptu guitar riff's / solos

And no, I don't see Guitar Hero ever getting old.

No chance - it's a great game.....let's face it, nobody even ever gets bored with the tracks they have on GH3 - I mean, how many times can you get 5 stars for '3's & 7's' before it gets tiresome???

Inspirius - Followed by Guitar Hero: Special Dennis Waterman Theme Tune Edition, where you write the theme tune and sing the theme tune using some sort of one man band equipment.
