New Golden Axe game gets date
Beast Rider gallops to October.
SEGA plans to unleash PS3 and 360 action role-playing game Golden Axe: Beast Rider on 17th October.
Despite having initially been scheduled for September, we still know relatively little about this 2008 interpretation of a series that began in the arcades, back in 1989.
So far what we know comes from trailers; the lady warrior with barely any clothes appears to be the main character, and uses various types of beasts as mounts to get around and crush people with.
Golden Axe: Beast Rider will also carry an 18 rating for its assortment of blood and gore and dismemberments.
Head over to our Golden Axe: Beast Rider gamepage for the videos and screenshots released so far.

... very, very slim! I'd love to be wrong but given how close the release date is and how little we've heard about the game in the form of previews, etc., my gut instinct tells me I'll likely be right. Perhaps it'll be a surprise gem of a game but I certainly won't be holding my proverbial breath for it...

I predict this being a 5/10 snorefest.

Beat Game - Lots of Points
Clear All Levels with Sword Only - Lots of Points
Clear All Levels with A+ Rank - Lots of Points
Clear All Trials (60 enemy waves) - Lots of Points
Kick Gnomes - Lots of Points
The demo from E3 looked alright actually! Quite fast. Lots of running around and chopping/riding. You might ask "who would pay £40 quid for this in 2008"... but I have a Master System copy of Golden Axe which still has the £49.99 price tag on it! And the game could be beat in 20 minutes!

That cost £50 twenty years ago?! That's probably why I was only allowed a CPC 464. I remember loving the original Golden Axe too, I'd kinda like to see a new version of it that's a really complex, side scrolling, fighter.

How great you once were. The dreamcast era is long forgotten, and now this empty shell of a publisher is here, masquarding as sega.

The sequels all sucked and the PS2 3D remake was nothing more than a bad joke.

Who needs another God of War a-like game, branded with a name they are leasing from Sega? with a generic 'Kevlar-lingerie' clad bimbo to appeased the undersexed 'Scary Internet Men'.
Original Golden Axe was awesome, but please someone tell me how this game will feel like Goldenaxe?
because I hit enemies with weapons and do magic? get to ride around on weird chicken monsters?
