New Ghost Recon also on PC and PS3

Future Soldier not a 360 exclusive.

Ubisoft's freshly-unveiled Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will also appear on PC and PS3.

Both console versions will launch simultaneously, tweeted Ubisoft's Kimi Matsuzaki this afternoon.

Fellow community bod Aymeric Evennou added: "To those who wondered, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will also release on PS3: same experience, same development team and same release date."

Matsuzaki said more information about the PC version will follow.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, unveiled this morning, will be released in the autumn after an Xbox 360 multiplayer beta in the summer.

To reserve a spot you'll need to buy a copy of Splinter Cell: Conviction.

To reserve your spot you need to buy a copy of BLAH, which you most likely don't actually want or will end up trading back long before the beta starts. Hopefully this will boost the sales of BLAH so that we can rake in some un-deserved cash for a poor pile of crud that otherwise wouldn't sell.

Thank you for lubing up and bending over

Well, in my case I want "BLAH"* and I couldn't care less about Ghost Recon.

    * - Splinter Cell Conviction.

Loved Graw 2, hope the new one stays true to its roots and doesn't go down the COD MP route (which I still like BTW, but want something more considered).

So the Xbox 360 and PS3 get the same development teams but there's no word on the PC version just yet...

GRAW and GRAW 2 were both significantly different games on the PC compared to consoles, as they were developed by GRIN - the Swedish studio of Bionic Commando (2009) "fame"...

Ubisoft must have a guy there who really hates the PC for some reason*.

    *Piracy, I suppose

Has there been any gameplay details yet? Really want more co-op missions.
  • Eraysor #8 2 years ago

I loved GRAW 1 and 2 (I think GRAW1 was the first game I really loved for the 360) so verily looking forward to this one.

PC version with the shitty DRM means a console version for me.

Well I was gonna get the console version for Splitscreen anyway but the DRM means no double dipping on it. Thanks for saving me money Ubi.
  • Murton #10 2 years ago

This was always a console buy for me anyway as I love split screen multiplayer, the typical Ubi DRM is a bitch but not a factor in my decision here.

    "Future Soldier?

They should have went with "Cutting-Edge Combat" :-D
  • matrim83 #14 2 years ago

@ schnide Yes. They went back in time to rip off MW and made GR on the PC in what, 1999?

I fucking hate these MW comparisons with every game. Apparently if its not set in WW2 and has guns its a MW ripoff.
  • laharl80 #15 2 years ago

I'd prefer it if this game was more like the ones on the ps2 and xbox.I hated graw.
  • altitude2k #16 2 years ago

I'd forgotten GRAW and GRAW2 were exclusives. I had the "this is news?" quizzical look for a moment there.
  • schnide #17 2 years ago

    @matrim83

Actually mate, I meant "are they trying to get the edge on Modern Warfare with calling it Future Soldier" but if that bile tastes nice, you keep it there firmly in your mouth.

    @matrim83

I think you'll find schnide's comment was a pun on the name 'modern warfare', and not the military settings of each game

Were they? I have the first GRAW on PC and GRAW2 on the PS3. Looking at the release dates on wikipedia neither one was exclusive with each game seeing both a PC and a PS version released within a few weeks.

You're right though, there's no real news here as the rest of the series was multiplatform and nobody really expected this to be an exception.
  • Liamario #20 2 years ago

Was it even mentioned to be exclusive in the first place?
    NO!
Eurogamer created an article to get hits?
    YES!

@schnide Yeah and Ghost recon was called Advanced Warfighter in 2006. Still sound like they are tryin to be MW?
  • jellyhead #22 2 years ago

Also "Future Soldier" is a an umbrella term for a slew of projects by many modern armies towards developing hi-tech portable kit for soldiers. Wiki it, there's some pretty sweet kit about.

    Confirmed for Wii by IGN.

"It's done by a different team, so it's a different approach, and will be created for the Wii population." = on-rails spin-off?
  • jag10 #24 2 years ago

    how is future modern?
  • Spekingur #25 2 years ago

'Future' is everything that happens after the time this sentence was written...
  • Skurmedel #26 2 years ago

Frankly "Modern Warfare" is a strange name, as we live in the digital age and the modern age started at the beginning of the 20th century. Not that Future Soldier is any better, makes it sound like Robocop.

Sooo Ghost Recon- Summer Break it is then? Catch up with the heroes whilst they're back home on leave, enjoying such activities as Beach Volleyball, Beach Tennis, Beach football, Beach Frizbee and Beach Walking.

The first few GRAW games on the 360 had some wonderful graphics, normally pushing the envelope at the time of release, so I ended up buying both on release day and then remembering when I got home that I'm fackin useless at squad based shooters. I can barely look after myself on a normal FPS, so I end up scraping my way through 10% of the game before getting stuck :( I wont fall for it again with the new one.

Ahahha, Ubi must really hate PC gamers. Have a PS3 and PC and have the best of both worlds as most 360 "exclusives" end up on PC anyways.
  • Murton #29 2 years ago

Skurmedel: I wouldn't mind a return to Robocop actually. A free-roam around Delta City with randomly generated petty crimes plus a load of scripted missions and whatnot, kind of like a role reversal on GTA and its ilk.
  • Skurmedel #30 2 years ago

Murton it would be an instant classic with some cheesy voice acting.
