Looks absolutely lovely, but these are REPLAY shots which are completely pointless.

In-game shots, please.

I don't think they're even replay shots, they're photo mode shots, so not at all representative of what the game will look like in motion. The level of detail is fantastic, though, and I'm liking the cars they've chosen to show off.

We already know what it looks like in motion, and it's not a hundred miles off these shots.

Yea, but if they show in-game shots, then everybody says they look crap compared to the GT5 replay shots :p

Is it just me, or is that Tiida speeding down the main straight without a driver? It would make sense, no one want to drive one of those.

What? No Digital Foundry pixel by pixel analysis to accompany said screenshots. Eurogamer is getting fucking lazy! Not good enough.

@mashk, What, a copy/paste of a previous post that was neither clever nor amusing before and less so now due to repetition. mashk is getting fucking lazy! Not good enough.

Those screenshots look excellent but they're not really 100% representative of the actual game because they have superior AA and filtering. I recall that Forza 2 produced some gorgeous looking screenshots but the actual game wasn't anywhere near as nice looking. In terms of image quality: screenshots > replays > in-game.

That said, I've seen footage of Forza 3 in motion from E3 and it looks fantastic, a substantial improvement on the first sequel, most notably because it has some decent lighting at long last!

Looking far better than what was claimed to be in-game footage in the last trailer.

Interesting to see that this bunch of images shows japanese cars only and the Suzuka track. I wonder who they are aiming at there :)

Nothing beats a hard fought race in a shitty car lineup!

I agree with you. I usually lose interest in a racing game after I get to cars beyond Mitsubishi Lancers or Nissan Skyline's.

I always find these games are more fun when you're playing with tuning a Golf or something, rather than pissing about trying to tune the handling of a Le Mans car, so it'll actually go around corners.

My favourite car lineup ever was Metropolis Street Racer, where a standard, factory Skyline GTR was the factest car in the game. All the ferraris and non-road-legal racing cars in subequent PGRs spoilt it a bit for me.

There is a reason for all the Japanese cars. If you check out http://forzamotorsport.net/en-us/jdm_pow... you'll see that for this media release they are doing Japanese cars. maybe next week they'll be doing German cars. Who knows..... But this was deliberate. They even have a nice explanation and a little bit of info about the cars showcased for all the car nuts in this comment thread. So a lot of you should go and check it out. Later, Gamers!

I think the lighting is looking mighty impressive at the very least as good as GT5... I think some people may be confusing the lighting with something else. Remember the comparisons between Forza1 and GT4? Forza had way more advanced lighting, real time full colour reflections(absent from GT4), way better shadowing --Including self shadowing on the car models.-- much more accurately modeled scenery(in full 3d I mean... much much less use of 2d sprites).

The difference is the GT and Forza devs have always had different styles:

Turn 10 I think aim for accuracy - accross the board; lighting, shadowing, physics, damage ect... you simply cannot argue they very good at what they do(It almost looks too clean and clinical is what I think puts some people off).

Polyphony Digital focus on getting everything to look as realistic as possible; sometimes beleive it or not this means sacrificing accuracy, since doing it the brute force way is nigh impossible even if they were building it on the best hardware available at the time... which consoles never are. So likewise Polyphony Digital are also very good at what they do making the right choices to nail the realism with what they have to work with(Whether its do we need full reflections here? Do we need to render that part of the scenery in 3d?... Im pretty sure they are very clever at knowing just how much they can save/get away with, with decisions just like that in every area to beable to acheive the results they want).

in car shots look good and maby your 'head' looks into corners as you turn . looks good . I agree slow cars are fun . you gotta drive the wheels of them . don't think there will be a 1975 Ford Escort 1600 Sport in the game but it would be fun .

an r35 gtr gt500 car eh? i'll be keen to see whether the interior of the road car will be properly modelled or whether pd say 'that parts ours' but its good that 360 only owners get a chance to have something that sony or pd have had their fingers in. same goes with le mans with its 'playstation chicane'
