"The Force Unleashed was released back in September and turned out to be one of the best Star Wars games ever"

Sorry what EG? I hope that was a joke!

".... in comparison to Super Bombad Racing," they should've finished.

oooh... and is it really new stuff, or it's already present on the disk, and you just conveniently unlock it? theese DLC things on console are still messy, despite the fact that now they finally have internal storage.

fanboy on - oh, and yeah. since when is TFU the best star wars game? ever heard Jedi Outcast/Academy, KotOR/2, Rogue Squadron 2, to name a few...? they may not have been developed by Lucas internally, but I believe they are fair competitors for that spot.

ah well, people always forget about games released the day before yesterday...

It was hardly better than Rebel Assault 2, X-Wing or Dark Forces/Jedi Knight. Still one of the best Star Wars games of the decade, though.

"which admittedly isn't saying much"? Tsk, kids these days.

A good (hard) mission, that added a much-needed extra planet and challenge, but storyline-wise is out of place as it obviously was meant to be part of the game in the first place. Too big too.

We all know the best ones were the X-Wing / Tie Fighter series! (peaking at X-wing Alliance).

Rogue Squadron ha ha, those were terrible compared to the proper X-wing games!

To qualify as "one of the best star wars games ever" it probably just has to be in the "top half" if you listed all the star wars games in order of quality.

I think it probably qualifies. For every TIE Fighter, X-Wing and KOTOR there are a dozen pieces of shit like Masters of Teras Kasi or whatever it was.

WEll I downloaded the mission somewhat apprehensively (after reading reviews of half hour playtime...) but had an absolute blast with it. Its like they figured out what is the most fun in TFU - rooms full of breakable stuff and full of Stormtroopers. Brilliant.
Oh, and playing as Darth Maul certainly added to the atmosphere......

Anyone know how long this lasts? Probably download it for my son who completed the game already...

I don't think it was worth the money. The level was too short, it doesn't add anything to the story despite what the ads say, and the achievements were not stacked, which meant I had to finish it 5 times to get all the difficulty achievements (first time, it didn't give me any).
To people who haven't purchased it yet, I advise you to ignore it and save your money.

One playthrough lasts about 20 minutes so completing it multiple times for all the achievements wasnt much of a problem for me.

Didn't really add anything to the plot, but was sort of fun...

What may have added value to this (and the character packs) would be if they implemented the very attractive skins better (setting character animations as well as the skin itself). These look fantastic but are essentially very hollow.

TBH most of the skins are of the apprentice anyway and could keep his moves, but using the existing Stormtrooper animation for commandos/clones, or the Darth vader animation for slower Jedi like old Obi Wan/Dooku and animation for the other jedis you fight AGAINST for more traditional Jedi characters would have made this a much more worthwhile purchase, and half the work seems to have been done in implementing them as NPCs.

The 3PO skin just looks WRONG moving like that and they clearly can change the player characters animation/movement as evidenced in the prologue...

They could really transform the game by introducing a DLC mode set in the training room or whatever, that allows you to fight 2 player duels, and this detailed character animation would really lend itself to that. THAT is worth 800+ MSP and however much Sony are charging.

ps. What's with the picture of one of the Jedi apparently fighting a red haired lady Jedin (Mara Jade?) used to advertise the DLC on the NXE dash? No such character in the main game, the DLC or the skins packs...
