New Far Cry 2 DLC coming soon

Fortune's Pack on the way for 360 and PS3.

The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Far Cry 2 are to get new downloadable content in the form of The Fortune's Pack.

It includes three new weapons for the single player mode - a silenced shotgun, sawn-off shotgun and crossbow, as well as two new vehicles: the wonderfully named Unimog, and the Quad.

The multiplayer mode has been beefed up with four new maps: Cheap Labour, Last Resort, Lake Smear and Fort Fury. Ubi confirmed the single player additions will also be available in multiplayer.

The pack is due out "before the end of November", according to Ubisoft, with no word yet on how much you'll have to pay for it.

Ubi's openworld shooter has picked up universal acclaim upon its release last month. See what Christian thought of it by heading over to the gamepage.

No mention of it coming out for the PC version, which is in IMO the best platform to play this game on...?

Hmmm. I enjoyed FC2, not enough to pay to download extra maps for it though, especially given the amount of free maps available for download.

Then again after No Country for Old Men, quite tempted by the silenced shotgun...

Presumably it will also fix the multiplayer in general and get rid of enemies respawning at guard posts.
    Or maybe not.

I still can't get my head around the constant respawning check points. It's stopped me progressing further than a couple of hours into it. Does it get any better?

Simple question: PC? I agree with Darren, it's infinitely the best platform to play it on.

I think it's quite likely that, like Rainbow Six Vegas 2, the DLC content will come as a freebie to PC owners a couple of months ofter the console release. But I know nothing.

I've got this game sitting there, unwrapped, and unplayed. Should be able to play it as soon as Microsoft send me my Xbox back.

Yeah, I actually made it as far as the second map.. but when the constant, excessive respawning continued there too, I gave up.

Far Cry 2 was one of the most wanted games for me, untill I actually played it, and saw all the above mentioned problems and a one much bigger one: it began to froze every 2 minutes, or so. After reading much about such and other complaints I returned the game, and I went for a full money back. The game was not finished at all, and Ubisoft should make free DLC for all, who bought the game, with all much needed patches, of course.Even the last patches, didn't fixed the problems, and added a new, mayor one: after installing them, You loose all your gamestats! See the forums on Ubi official game site.
