EA has said to expect a new Dragon Age game of some description between January and March 2011.

That's according to a release schedule accompanying the publisher's Q3 financials, which lists "Dragon Age Title TBA" for console, handheld and PC.

That could mean a new game, or possibly another expansion pack, but EA has yet to clarify the listing.

EA also announced that the first Dragon Age: Origins had sold over 3.2 million units worldwide according to its latest internal estimates.

The game is due to receive an expansion, Awakening, on 16th March across PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, and is receiving ongoing DLC support.

Christ, thank god it's not on the 360! I haven't even started Dragon Age: Origins yet! All these frickin games and no time! Arrggghhh!

"For handhelds??" As much as I'm looking forward to more Dragon Age, I sure hope this isn't some dumbed down spinoff, but rather more of the excellent Pc-version.

@Ace Grace I dont know if it helps but lowering the texture details to medium seems to cut down the load times by a HUGE margin for me. Almost a reduction of 70%.

A myriad of bugs aren't the only reason why I disliked Dragon Age. But that's irrelevant.

Hopefully, this means a new Mass Effect in late 2011.

Funny, whenever I hear all the hype and praise for Mass Effect 2 I think about how Dragon Age is really more deserving. Certainly sems like a lot more time and effort went into it.

edit: that's not to say there was no effort gone into ME2 of course, just that DA seems a much deeper, more complex and just plain longer game.

Ouch. If Bioware can't dissuade EA from puching them into a yearly release cycle then I guess that means they're dead. At any rate Dragon Age: Cash In is going to be a sub-par experience.

Why all the sceptecism. For a start its not mentioned that Bioware are handling it so it may not be a rushed sequel and could be handled by another studio able to extend Dragon Age to one of numerous other genres. You could have your Diablo Esque dungeon crawler set in the ruined Dwarven cities, a tactics or RTS game based on larger scale battles, a 3rd person action adventure game that would suit the consoles better.

Personally I'd quite like an XBLA/PSN/DS tactics game.

I agree with white_frank_white, more is good.

As for Mass Effect 2 vs Dragon Age I personally love both of them. Two RPGs going off in totally different directions and both still managing to be superb (and ridiculously large). The fact that I've gotten both over the last few months is just staggering (with the Dragon Age expansion rolling along just as I finish ME2 hopefully).

I'd love a decent new handheld (PSP) game too so if DA is coming to PSP I look forward to it (and pray it'll actually be decent)

3.2 million is an aweful lot for a game that is arguably inferior to NWN2 by this point in terms of content, character customization, art direction, writing, reliability, setting and overall quality of conception. but of course, Obsidian isn't Bioware and we all know that only they may make western PRGs.

Was with you until "reliability". NWN2 was pretty messy upon release, no? A lot messier than Dragon Age.

Besides NWN2 was a PC only game, all context is lost in comparing sales figures with a 360 game.

NWN2 suffered from bugs on release, also not sure there's much difference between it and DA quality-wise. It was expansions like Mask of the Betrayer which really made NWN2. Will be interesting to see how the DA expansions measure up to that, I expect they'll be poor.
