How about a bug fix instead? No? Okay then.

Does it also come with a working game?

    Buggiest game in recent memory!

Actually, it doesn't work at all! It's completely broken! You're better off flushing that £6 down the toilet...

I've spent 100+ hours on the game before and after the different patches, and it works perfectly fine.

Far and away the most polished TW game they have ever released.

    Needs more playable factions ffs!

Units of the East, most of it is all ottomans!

    @Lou,

Game has been pretty stable for me too. The battle AI is still completely batshit-broken though.

    The forts are still stupid.

Have you tried lining up troops along the walls? You end up with some pretty silly formation shapes.

Haven't been able to put much time in it so far. It requires booting up in Windows and that's becoming more and more a deal breaker for me. That, and I still haven't played enough of both Rome and Medieval II.

Really, really like the series (have played every instalment but the Shogun one). It's just a shame that it's so addictive and time consuming. That makes it ill suited to be played during a work week. ;)

In hindsight Empire: Total War doesn't deserve 9/10. It was crippled by bugs, stupid AI and glacial load speeds. The bugs are mostly fixed but the AI is still braindead and the slow loading remains. 7/10 would be more accurate score.

I hope Napoleon is better but I think I'll sit it out until consensus either damns or praises it. I hope also Eurogamer look beyond the scope of the game to see if it fixes the fundamentals when handing out a score.

Stable for me, the AI isn't that smart but it's smarter than almost all other AI.

When have you ever seen fanboys get excited about AI rather than shiney graphics? Hence the devs are really lazy about one and not the other.

Wont be playing it before they introduce a 4+ multiplayer

Er, all the time. 50% of the discussion about TW games have been about the AI ever since Shogun. :)

If I had a good PC this game would be first on my list and an instant buy, but I haven't so I wont. Still play the first Medieval game and still get hooked into a campaign and play for hours.

don't need units. need faction balance to stop marathas conquring india in every game. need better campaign map with more than 1 province for france. need new theatres like conquerable west africa. need balanced technology system that models the backwardness of factions like spain and doesn't just give away all your hard work researching to everyone 5 turns later. need revolutions to actually happen to countries other than your own. need more factions playable as standard. need multiple starting dates.

do not need new skins and stats that add nothing to the game.
